It was the first annual IB Learner Profile Awards Ceremony in Mrs. Rodriguez’s 3rd grade reading classes today! Students used text evidence to nominate and vote on the characters who have displayed the IB learner profiles taught in their 1st unit of inquiry, Who We Are! ❤️🏆🖤

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month CES 1st grade artists learned about Venezuelan artist Mercedes Pardo! They reviewed their color mixing skills to make their own painted paper. After learning about geometric and organic shapes they observed Pardo’s use of shapes collaged together in layers. Each piece yielded such unique masterpieces, just like how each artist is unique. We want to thank every student that participated as a candidate. We are very proud of all of our candidates and want to thank you for all of the effort you put into your posters and speeches. You are amazing!

After a morning of learning, collaborating, and planning, our CES staff had the opportunity to tap into their creativity! We are creating our very own Walls of Paws to decorate our school.

Each canvas was painted by one staff member, making every piece completely unique. Four individual canvases are then brought together to create one paw. Just like our CES family, each person brings their own talents, personality, and strengths and when we come together, we create something pretty special.

⭐️Good luck to all our StuCo candidates! ⭐️
You guys did an amazing job on your speeches!
