SUNDAY COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT 🤝

Shooting sports offer more than just time at the range.

Disciplines such as IDPA, USPSA and other organized shooting sports can provide opportunities to practice skills, learn from other shooters and become part of a community.

Find a program. Get involved. Keep learning.

SAFETY SATURDAY 🎯

Knowing your target isn't enough.

You also need to consider what is beyond your target.

This is especially important at the range and anywhere a fi***rm is being used. Make sure you're using an appropriate backstop and understand your surroundings before firing.

Know your target. Know what's beyond it.

SAFETY SATURDAY ☝️

Where should your trigger finger be?

Until you've made the decision to fire and your sights are on the target, keep your finger outside the trigger guard.

This simple habit is one of the most important fi***rm-safety fundamentals.

Finger straight. Muzzle safe. Mind focused.

FI***RM FACT FRIDAY 🔍

Ever wondered about the serial number on a fi***rm?

Serial numbers are identifying markings applied by manufacturers and can be used for recordkeeping and identification purposes.

If you own a fi***rm, it's a good idea to know where its identifying information is located and keep your personal records organized and secure.

Know your equipment—and keep good records.

FUN FACT FRIDAY 🔎

The M1911 has one of the longest histories of continued use and influence among modern semi-automatic pistols.

Designed by John Browning and adopted by the U.S. military in 1911, the design has influenced generations of handguns.

More than a century later, the 1911 remains a familiar name to fi***rm enthusiasts.

1911 fans—what's your favorite variation?

Always find time for training. You can't become John Wick overnight but consistent training will enhance your abilities. Adding various types of training will also increase your experience level.

Some local training schools I attend are, 212 Training Group near Gatesville and North American Outdoors LLC in Houston.

TRAINING THURSDAY 📖

Have you read your fi***rm's owner's manual?

It may not be the most exciting part of fi***rm ownership, but your owner's manual contains important information about operation, safety, maintenance, and am******on.

Your fi***rm came with instructions for a reason.

Take the time to read them—and keep the manual somewhere accessible for future reference.

TRAINING THURSDAY 🎯

Let's talk about sight alignment.

Before worrying about speed, learn to consistently establish your sights and understand what a proper sight picture looks like with your fi***rm.

Accuracy starts with fundamentals.

Build consistency before chasing speed.

Cleaning supplies? 🧽
Water? 💧
