Darren Cueva, Conductor | Zach Castille, General Manager The quartet has since changed its name to the Bayou String Quartet. Members come from all walks of life.

The Lafayette Community String Orchestra originated in 1992 as an outgrowth of the Lafayette Community String Quartet. The mission of this volunteer organization is to provide enjoyable string music at no cost to residents of Lafayette and the surrounding areas. This orchestra also provides string musicians of all ages and experience an opportunity to play in an ensemble. Members range in age from middle school students to retired musicians. Some have been playing for over fifty years and some for less than one year. Over the years, the LCSO has performed at numerous nursing/retirement homes, the HoliDome, Girard Park Recreation Center, Oil Center Christmas Light Festival, KATC TV’s "Good Morning Acadiana" Show, Foley’s Department Store, Barnes & Noble, First United Methodist Church of Crowley, First Baptist Church of Lafayette Chapel, the Lafayette Public Library, Notre Dame Catholic Church of St. Martinville, and the Essanee Theater of New Iberia. Current members are from Lafayette, Carencro, Cecilia, Breaux Bridge, Duson, Crowley, Iowa, New Iberia, Natchitoches, and Washington (LA). LCSO's General Manager is Tommy Benoit. LCSO's Conductor is Renee Langley Nunez.

Good evening everyone! You might notice some changes around here, but the music and goal will always stay the same! And on that note, we’d like to invite you to our free concert at the end of the month! August 30th, 1:30PM at St Edmonds Catholic Church on 4131 W Congress St. Darren and I can’t wait to see you!
