When Everyone Else Seems to Move On 🤍

One of the hardest parts of grief can be watching the outside world keep moving when you feel like your world stopped.

The holidays come and go.
Birthdays are celebrated.
People return to their routines.
Life keeps happening.

And you may wonder:

“How is everyone else moving forward when I’m still here?”

Sometimes it can feel like everyone has moved on while you’re still trying to figure out how to live in a world that changed forever.

But you are not behind.

Grief doesn’t have a timeline, and you don’t have to measure your healing against anyone else’s.

When the world feels like it’s moving too fast, try:

💙 Pause. Give yourself permission to step away and breathe.
💙 Name it. “Today is a hard grief day.”
💙 Ground yourself. Take a walk, sit outside, journal, pray, or listen to music.
💙 Reach out. Talk to someone who understands.
💙 Give yourself grace. You don’t have to fix the grief—you just have to get through this moment.

You don't have to move on from your child. You learn how to move forward while carrying a love that will always be part of you.

Your timeline is your own.
Your grief is your own.
Your love doesn't have an expiration date.

Sweet Benjamin, you are forever loved and deeply missed. Your confidence, happy spirit, and beautiful smile brought laughter and love wherever you went. You will always be remembered for your love for music, singing, kittens, dancing, and the joy you brought to everyone around you.

Your love for your Momma and the special bond you shared with your siblings will always hold a precious place in their hearts. Your presence at Victory Lighthouse Church brought joy to your church family, and the love you shared there will never be forgotten.

Though your time with us was far too short, your light continues to shine through every memory and every heart you touched.

✨ Something exciting is coming for RescYOU Fest 2027✨

We love RescYOU Fest, and we know so many of you do, too! This event has brought our community together in such a special way, and we are incredibly grateful for every person who has supported it. That is why we are pausing in 2026 to reorganize this amazing event.

As The RescYOU Group continues to grow, we want this event to grow with us. That is why RescYOU Fest is getting a complete revamp! We have some exciting ideas and meaningful new components we cannot wait to bring to life, but creating something special will require thoughtful planning, preparation and time.

Because RescYOU Fest is also an important fundraiser for our mission, we must ensure that it not only brings our community together but also raises the funds necessary to continue serving grieving families. For that reason, we will be taking the next year to carefully reimagine and strengthen the event.

Please be patient with us as we dream, plan and prepare. We truly believe the wait will be worth it! 💙

Sweet Baby Girl, you are forever loved and deeply missed. You brought so much joy, laughter, and curiosity into every life you touched. From your many precious nicknames to your love for lima beans, rice and gravy, grilled cheese, and honey buns, every little thing about you brought a smile to everyone's face.

We will always remember you on your Momma’s and Nanny’s hip, proudly being the family taste tester, sipping ice water from GiGi’s cup, playing peek-a-boo, chasing the cats, and pointing with your sweet little “Wat dat?” Your love for your Momma was undeniable, and the joy you shared with your Daddy, Papa, Nana, and everyone who cared for you will never be forgotten.

Though your time with us was far too short, your light continues to shine in the hearts of everyone who loves you. Your laughter, your sweetness, and your beautiful spirit will live on forever.

Our Hannah is at it again, reminding us that we are capable of so much more than we sometimes believe! 🏃‍♀️💪✨

Today, Hannah completed another half marathon in an incredible 1 hour and 57 minutes. That is an average pace of about 8 minutes and 56 seconds per mile! 🔥🏅 We have always known Hannah is an absolute powerhouse, but this accomplishment takes her strength and determination to an entirely new level!

What makes Hannah so inspiring is that she does not simply talk about courage, perseverance, and doing hard things. She lives them. 💙 These are the same lessons she pours into the children of The RescYOU Group. She teaches them that grief may be part of their story, but it does not define their future or take away their ability to accomplish incredible things.

Hannah, you are living proof that even in the midst of grief, we can keep putting one foot in front of the other. We can do hard things. We can cross finish lines we once thought were impossible, and we can discover just how strong we truly are. 🌟

You inspire our children, our families, and every single one of us! We are beyond proud of you! Congratulations, Hannah! You are truly UNSTOPPABLE! 👏🎉💙🏁

Dear Karson,

Your infectious smile and fun-loving spirit are memories we will carry in our hearts always. You had a way of making everyone feel loved, especially through your endless hugs and kisses.

We remember your incredible work ethic, your love for paintball, and the joy you found riding your Grom. We remember the dreams you carried for your future, becoming an engineer, designing aircraft and space shuttles, and reaching for the skies.

Your caring heart continues to inspire us. Even through becoming an organ donor, you found a way to give to others, just as you always did.

Though we wish we had more time with you, your love, laughter, dreams, and memories live on through everyone who knew you.
