Fenstermaker
Fenstermaker has provided industry-leading survey and mapping, engineering, and environmental consulting for 75+ years.
With offices in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi, our family-first, customer-obsessed mentality sets us apart from the rest.
From roadway design
through construction completion.
The E. Broussard @ Robley Roundabout is taking shape, bringing a long-planned investment in Lafayette’s infrastructure closer to everyday use.
There’s a real sense of satisfaction in watching a roadway you helped design become a place people can travel.
Long before construction, our engineers worked through how the intersection would fit within a constrained site near the Vermilion River. Decisions about roadway geometry and drainage had to account for those conditions while supporting safer traffic movement.
Today, our continued involvement in construction oversight helps carry that engineering intent into the field.
We're grateful to Lafayette Consolidated Government for trusting Fenstermaker to help advance this project. That trust carries responsibility, and we value the opportunity to see the work through alongside Glenn Lege Construction and our project partners.
For everyone navigating the changes along this corridor:
thank you for your patience.
The work underway is moving us toward a safer intersection with better traffic flow, built to support a growing Lafayette.
There’s meaningful progress to celebrate here—and we’re proud to help see it through.

Gators, great company and lively conversation. 🐊
It’s a pretty Louisiana way to pass a good time.
We were proud to spend time in the Atchafalaya Basin for Governor Jeff Landry’s 16th Annual Alligator Hunt—a uniquely Louisiana gathering where culture, relationships and a shared vision for the future come together.
Between the gators, Cajun hospitality and time with friends old and new, the Hunt creates the kind of setting where relationships deepen and meaningful conversations happen—about business, infrastructure, investment, jobs and what it will take to keep Louisiana moving forward.
Sixteen years in, the continued growth of this tradition is worth celebrating.
We applaud Governor Jeff Landry, the organizers and everyone who has helped build and sustain an event that brings people together in a way that is unmistakably Louisiana.
And there is a lot to talk about right now.
Louisiana is experiencing tremendous economic momentum. Major investments are being announced across the state, alongside a renewed focus on the infrastructure, site readiness, workforce and partnerships needed to turn opportunity into lasting growth.
We appreciate the urgency Governor Landry’s administration, Louisiana Economic Development and leaders across the public and private sectors are bringing to making our state more competitive and positioning Louisiana as a land of opportunity.
Our team is proud to be part of that work.
The best growth creates opportunity beyond any one company, project or community.
When we invest in the foundations for growth, strengthen partnerships and create more ways for Louisiana people and businesses to participate in what comes next, a rising tide really can lift all boats.
Congratulations on another successful Alligator Hunt.
We’re grateful for the hospitality, energized by the conversations and proud to keep building Louisiana’s next chapter together.

FUELED Season 6 explores what powers Louisiana.
Every conversation ends with one question:
“What fuels you?”
The answers are personal. The conversations behind them reveal just how much sits behind a reliable kilowatt.
Across the season, we explore how Louisiana’s power system is owned, generated, delivered, rebuilt, regulated and scaled—
revealing how affordability, resilience, infrastructure and economic growth are increasingly interconnected.
We’re grateful to SLEMCO’s Katherine Domingue, LEPA’s Kevin Bihm, Jeff Davis Electric CO-OP’s Mike Heinen, First Solar’s Georges Antoun, Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Susan Bonnett Bourgeois, Louisiana Public Service Commissioner Jean-Paul Coussan and Entergy Louisiana’s Phillip May for helping bring Louisiana’s power system into sharper focus—and for sharing the purpose behind their work.

Concrete work is won in the details.
From bull floating and broom finishing to surface texture and curing, each step affects how the finished concrete performs.
Brooming creates the grip needed for traction, while curing compound helps control heat exposure and reduce the risk of uneven curing and premature cracking.
That’s where field experience makes the difference.
Fenstermaker’s construction inspection team understands what’s happening on site, the purpose behind each step and the details that signal the work is being executed correctly in the field.
We’re also growing our construction inspection team, with full-time, part-time and per-project opportunities available in Lafayette and Lake Charles.

Modern mapping is changing what we can solve.
Fenstermaker GIS Specialist and Team Lead Mike Donlon recently joined Out to Lunch Acadiana to talk maps—but the conversation quickly became about much more than cartography.
It was a look at what GIS makes possible when spatial data, technology and real-world problem solving come together.
One powerful example: work Mike and our team completed with Lafayette 911 to create standardized, floor-aware mapping for approximately 70 Lafayette Parish schools. Using LiDAR and three-dimensional scanning, the team captured buildings room by room and translated millions of data points into detailed mapping that can now be accessed by first responders through their dispatch systems.
As Mike explains in the conversation, that’s only one application.
At Fenstermaker, GIS intersects with surveying, engineering, environmental work and advanced technologies—helping teams capture field conditions, organize complex information, understand infrastructure and turn data into something people can actually use.
For a company that began as a surveying firm in 1950, there’s a natural throughline. The tools have changed dramatically. The underlying work of understanding where things are, what they mean and how that information can help solve a problem continues to move forward.
We’re proud to see Mike sharing that expertise—and proud of a team that keeps asking what else these technologies can do.

Growth has a power requirement.
Opportunity is economic. Ex*****on: electrical.
In the Season 6 finale of FUELED, Entergy Louisiana President and CEO Phillip May describes what it means to operate in what he calls a “power-first world”—one where, for major projects evaluating Louisiana, power has become a threshold question from the earliest site-selection conversations through final decision-making:
How quickly can I get power?
🎥 Watch the full conversation on YouTube:

The scale has changed.
Projects that once added incremental demand can now reshape the system around them. Meeting that demand means planning generation, transmission and resilience together at a scale and speed that match the opportunity.
Phillip sees that growth as an opportunity to build a stronger grid for everyone.
One principle anchors the approach:
Growth must pay for growth.
New investment has to carry the costs and risks it creates while strengthening the broader system and protecting the customers already depending on it.
In the full conversation, we discuss:
‣ why “speed to power” has become a competitive advantage
‣ how Entergy plans for demand arriving faster than infrastructure can be built
‣ how costs and risks are allocated when new loads reshape the grid
‣ why generation, transmission and resilience have to scale together
‣ what getting this moment right could mean for Louisiana communities and families
Again and again, Phillip brings the conversation back to people.
For him, the larger measure of success is what this growth makes possible: careers worth building, communities that can grow, families with reasons to stay and Louisiana’s children having the opportunity to come home and thrive.
That is what all of this infrastructure is ultimately meant to support.
A fitting place to close a season spent exploring the people, infrastructure and decisions powering Louisiana’s future.

The biggest bets in the world
are landing in Louisiana.
Our power system has to make sure they pay off—not pass the bill.
In the Season 6 finale of FUELED: Powering Louisiana’s Future, Entergy Louisiana President and CEO Phillip May takes us inside what it means to build for growth at a scale Louisiana has never experienced before.

First Solar.
Hyundai Steel.
Meta.
SpaceX.
Four narrative-changing projects.
And one increasingly consequential question:
Can Louisiana deliver the power?
For Phillip, that means more than adding generation. It means planning ahead, expanding transmission, strengthening the grid, and making sure existing customers are not asked to subsidize extraordinary new demand.
His principle is clear:
“Growth must pay for growth.”
At its best, that growth can do more than cover its own cost. It can help build a stronger, more resilient power system for everyone connected to it.
In the full conversation, we discuss:
‣ why “speed to power” has become a competitive advantage
‣ how Entergy plans for demand arriving faster than infrastructure can be built
‣ how costs and risks are allocated when new loads reshape the grid
‣ why generation, transmission, and resilience have to scale together
‣ what getting this moment right could mean for Louisiana communities and families
Episode 7 brings Season 6 full circle.
We started with community-level power and moved through collective power, resilience, generation, economic development, and regulatory accountability.
Now we arrive at ex*****on: how those pieces come together to reliably power what Louisiana is becoming.
Thank you, Phillip, for giving us such a clear look at what it will take to power this era of growth in Louisiana—and the responsibility that comes with it.

Ask Jean-Paul Coussan his priority:
“Jobs, jobs and jobs.”
He learned why firsthand: knocking on thousands of doors across Lafayette, Jean-Paul heard from people who had lost oil and gas jobs and needed work to support their families.
That experience still shapes how he approaches one of Louisiana’s biggest questions:
How does Louisiana move fast enough to capture this moment without asking existing customers to carry the costs and risks?
As Vice Chairman of the Louisiana Public Service Commission and Commissioner for District 2, Jean-Paul Coussan sits at the center of that question.
🎥 Watch the full Episode 6 conversation: https://lnkd.in/gYcfw-x3
Jean-Paul describes Louisiana as being on the “precipice of breaking out.” As the opportunity grows, the decisions before the Commission are becoming larger, more complex and more consequential.
New generation has to be proven necessary.
Major investments have to be prudent.
Extraordinary new demand has to carry its own risk.
And moving faster cannot mean lowering the standard.
Jean-Paul puts one of those principles plainly: “Our commitment is for the data center growth to pay their full freight.”
In the full conversation, we discuss:
‣ how months of technical review shape a single Commission vote
‣ why regulatory accountability continues long after a project receives approval
‣ how Louisiana can prepare for extraordinary demand without leaving customers responsible for infrastructure the system may not need
‣ why transformative projects should produce measurable benefits for the broader power system
‣ how accelerated regulatory review can move Louisiana faster without lowering standards or surrendering scrutiny
‣ and how natural gas, solar, nuclear, transmission, and long-term planning fit into a reliable and defensible power strategy
Louisiana’s path forward demands both growth and accountability. The opportunity is extraordinary, and so is the responsibility to make decisions today that will still serve Louisiana 10, 20, 30 and 40 years from now.
Thank you, Jean-Paul, for taking us inside that responsibility—and for helping make the work behind some of Louisiana’s most consequential power decisions more understandable.
