We took perimeter pool bonding out of the debate and into the field! 🔧

Nine residential pools across Central Florida, built by different contractors. Single No. 8 AWG copper wire loop against copper bonding grid, tested under simulated fault conditions up to 120 VAC.

The comparison point was a threshold voltage difference of 1.25 VAC across a 500 ohm resistance. NEC 680.26 requires the bond, it does not set a voltage limit, so we used the benchmark the literature already trusts.

Both methods passed. ✅

SunSmart Engineering provided engineering plans for permitting for a beautiful 14' x 30' sport pool & paver deck installed by Holland Pools & Spas in Orlando, FL. The pool is complete with Jandy three color-changing LED lights and two deck jet water features. Troy holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He joined SSE in June 2024 after John Antonelli, P.E. encouraged him to take the leap.

He describes his role as one that brings new challenges and variety every day. Troy thrives on learning and adapting to new technologies, and his work has earned him plenty of high fives along the way.

We provide third party inspection and evaluation for insurance companies, contractors, and private individuals. On site when the situation calls for it, or from your high resolution photos when it does not, either way you get a professional letter you can submit.

Three ways we work:

- Site inspections, evaluating work quality, code adherence, and potential issues.
- Photo evaluations, expert analysis of installations and completed projects from submitted images.
- Detailed reporting, comprehensive letters for insurance companies, property owners, or other stakeholders.

Reports can cover code compliance analysis, structural assessments, verification of workmanship, and recommendations for repairs.

One thing we will not do: alter findings. Our evaluations are impartial and fact based. We support your objective, we do not misrepresent the truth.

SunSmart Engineering provided the sealed structural plan set for permitting for a two-story pool enclosure measuring roughly 56' x 38', installed by Lafferty Aluminum & Screening ! The structure carries a 7" structural super gutter, a screen transom, a 36" chair rail, and belt rails. Two-story spans put real load on every connection, so the plan set sizes the members and the attachments for the conditions on this site.

SunSmart Engineering handled engineering responsibilities for a stunning 2,400 square foot solar pool heating system installed by Solar Trek in Keystone Heights, FL. The roof-mounted Heliocol system was installed on an exposed-fastener metal roof using S-5! Protea Brackets and provides heating for the outdoor swimming pool at zero operating cost. Photons + water = comfortable, warm swimming!
