Betty Lee Gregory Horton, 81, of Lancaster, SC, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Betty was born on Wednesday, October 4, 1944, in Lancaster County, SC, to the late Curtis Franklin and Athalee West Gregory. Throughout her life, Betty has always been known for her one-of-a-kind personality and loving heart. To know her was to love her, and you knew that in her presence you were always in for a great laugh and a hint of sarcasm. She was an independent, strong-willed person who did not sugarcoat the rims of her opinion. You always knew where you stood and knew you were loved. She married the love of her life, Elton, on July 1, 1966, and together created a legacy of love and a beautiful family. The two of them shared a love that some could only dream of having, and until his passing, they were inseparable. Betty loved to travel, especially to the mountains, and to enjoy family vacations with those she loved. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Thomas Elton Horton, affectionately known as “Elton”; sister, Janice McCain; as well as her brother, Frankie Gregory.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Stacy Horton (Chris); son, John Horton (Allison); sister, Vicky Branham (Robert); grandchildren, Spencer Horton (Alondra), Laney Green (Brian); cherished friends, Patsy & Shayla Willis; also left to cherish her memory are countless friends who have held a special place in Betty’s heart.

In accordance with her wishes, Betty will be cremated, and no formal services will be held. Instead, she wanted to be remembered in happiness by the memories she made with so many.

Robert Scott Skinner, affectionately known as “Bobby,” 45, of Lancaster, SC, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Bobby was born on Monday, April 13, 1981, in Garden City, Kansas. Throughout his life, Bobby has always been known for his one-of-a-kind personality, immense sense of humor, and loving heart. No matter where he went, he always made friends. His smile was infectious, and when you were around him, you could not help but smile yourself and exchange a few laughs. Sarcasm was his love language, and when you needed advice, you could count on that being a part of his response. You always knew where you stood with Bobby; there were no gray areas. He was bold, direct, and wise. He gave advice from the heart. If it was not the response you wanted, it was probably the one you needed to hear, and it was said with love.

Bobby was also known for being a protective person; he always made sure those he loved were safe and secure. Though he was a towering man of stature, which could be intimidating at first, deep down he was purely a big teddy bear at heart. His family is everything to him, and he makes sure they know how much he loves them every single day. A man of great faith, he showed others that faith by meeting them right where they were and loving them with a love that was unconditional. No matter the title or task, Bobby approached every job with an unmatched work ethic. He is deeply loved and respected by all of his employees and clients.

A loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and dear friend to many, he leaves behind an impression on the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of love, his humor, and of course his signature sarcasm will never be forgotten. Though our hearts are broken and our tears are streaming, Bobby, being the sarcastic man he was, would say to us all, “Don’t cry because I'm gone. Cry because you still have to go to work tomorrow."

Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Scott Gregory Skinner, and his grandparents, Richard and Betty McDonald, Barry and Peggy Skinner, Bernard Haflich, and Edward and Louise Rupp.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of twenty-six years, Jennifer Skinner; beloved children, Emerson and Jackson Skinner; mother and stepfather, Jeanne and Lance Rupp; sisters, Katrina Lowry (Joe), Cassie Hull (Bryce), Cassandra Goemans (Nick), and Emily Hicks; nieces and nephews, Zayne, Zara, and Zoey Hull, as well as Kali and Kaden Hintz; also left to cherish his memory are countless other family members and cherished friends who became family.

A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Bible Christian Church in Garden City, Kansas, with Pastor Chad Ulrich officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bobby Skinner Memorial Fund at -Skinner-67 (Venmo account) or checks payable to Jennifer Skinner with “Bobby Skinner Memorial Fund” in the memo line are gratefully accepted to support his children’s future career endeavors.
