Today, we kick off National Truck Driver Appreciation Week day 2 by recognizing the drivers who deliver product for the High Steel Service Center LLC.

While many of us are still asleep, these drivers are already beginning their day. It's not uncommon for them to be pulling out of the facility as early as 3:00 a.m., ensuring customers receive the materials they need on time.

Every day, these professionals safely transport a wide range of materials that help power industries across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel sheet, plate, coil, bar, tubing, and other processed metal products. Whether delivering raw materials to manufacturers or precision-processed products ready for fabrication, their work helps keep production lines running and customer projects on schedule.

These drivers are often the final link in the supply chain and the first face our customers see. Their commitment to safety, attention to detail, and dedication to on-time deliveries ensure that High Steel Service Center's customers receive the quality materials they need, when they need them.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Starts Today!

This week, we celebrate the skilled professionals who keep America moving and make High Transit successful every day.

From navigating oversized loads and specialized equipment to safely delivering our customers' most challenging projects, our drivers demonstrate incredible talent, precision, and dedication. Their work requires experience, problem-solving, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence that deserves recognition.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the lives lost and forever changed on September 11, 2001. We honor the courage of the first responders, service members, and everyday heroes who answered the call in the face of tragedy, and we reflect on the resilience and unity that carried our nation forward.

This past Saturday, we said our final farewell to our friend and fellow driver, Jan Keith.

Jan was a well-respected driver whose dedication, professionalism, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

To honor Jan's memory, four of our trucks joined the funeral procession and gave him a Graveside Truck Driver Final Salute, sounding their air horns three times as a tribute to a life well lived and a career dedicated to the road.

While our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the memories, laughter, and friendships Jan shared with us throughout the years. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
