Lancaster PD had a great time participating in the Sickle Cell Awareness Parade on Saturday!
Chief Roper always enjoys leading the parade each year and helping spread awareness about sickle cell disease. Itโs a great opportunity to come together with our community, show our support, and help bring attention to an important cause.
We are grateful to the Lancaster Regional Sickle Cell Society and to everyone who helped make this yearโs parade and event such a wonderful experience. But awareness doesnโt stop when the day ends. We encourage our Lancaster community to keep the conversation going, learn more about sickle cell disease, support those living with it, and continue showing up for one another.
Together, we can raise awareness, offer support, and make sure no one in our community faces sickle cell disease alone. Letโs continue to stand together, Lancaster! ๐โค๏ธ

๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐! ๐
Last night was a very special evening for the Lancaster Police Department as we celebrated a big accomplishment: becoming a dual-accredited law enforcement agency through both the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation Council (SCLEA)! ๐๐
Before the Lancaster City Council meeting, there was a reception in the lobby of City Hall with City leaders, department personnel, and supporters to celebrate this important milestone.
During the council meeting, Chief Chris Watts of the Rock Hill Police Department and Chairman of SCLEA presented Chief Don Roper with the official SCLEA Accreditation Award.
With this achievement, Lancaster Police Department became the 13th law enforcement agency in South Carolina to achieve dual accreditation through both CALEA and SCLEA! ๐
Chief Watts recognized Lancaster PD as a dual-accredited agency and a leader in South Carolina law enforcement. He also recognized our Accreditation Manager, Misty Walters, for her tremendous dedication and hard work throughout the accreditation process.
This accomplishment represents the hard work of our entire department, including our officers, supervisors, Communications, Records, Administration, and support personnel.
A special thank you to the Lancaster City Council for their continued support and to our Lancaster community for your trust, partnership, and belief in LPD. This is an accomplishment our entire community can be proud of! ๐
And thank you to Sylviaโs Cakes and Things for the beautiful cake featuring the Lancaster Police Department, SCLEA, and CALEA logos. It was the perfect addition to a very special evening! ๐๐
We are proud to serve Lancaster! ๐๐ฎโโ๏ธ๐ฎโโ๏ธ
