🐶 Meet Josie, the Happy Howler!

Josie was adopted through MAPR to her forever home in April 2026. She shows her love to her dog parents with cuddles on the couch, twirls when food is imminent, and happy howls when they return home. Josie's favorite food is her mid-afternoon greenie, and her favorite hobbies are riding in the car and running around on the beach.

Results have come back for Gravy’s tumor and it is mast cell. Since it is so large and has progressed so long, he will become a Sanctuary Pug and live out his days in the love and care of his foster family. 💔

🐶 SO MUCH CUTENESS!

"We adopted Darryl from MAPR this spring. We love his silly personality. He makes us laugh every day!"—His Family

Last week MAPR pulled 2 dogs from a shelter, a Pug and a Bulldog, who had been roaming the streets. They are in very rough shape. The Pug, Gravy, was severely malnourished, had a very large mass on his hip, bad eyes and skin and scared. The mass was removed at the shelter and we are awaiting pathology results. His foster Mom is working very hard on getting some weight on him with frequent small meals and good nutrition. He has very low vision and we don’t know if he will get any back, but are working with his vet to do everything we can to retain what he has. He is a sweet boy, even with all he has been through, and loves to cuddle up tight with his foster Mom at the end of the day. We will update his bio on our website as he progresses. You are safe and warm now, Gravy, and surrounded by love. ❤️

🐶 Meet Hudson and his sweet smile!

"Hudson was surrendered because he was too active. He is 10 months old and already living his best life - playing nonstop with his hooman, meeting doggie friends at day care, riding in cars, and eating organic fruit. His goal is to be in a commercial for veneers."—His Family

This past August, a group of MAPR board members and volunteers went to Pennsylvania to participate in Pug Camp https://www.facebook.com/pugcamp What is Pug Camp? Pug Camp is an extended weekend of everything Pug and Pug related, sponsored by the VERY organized and generous group, The Pug Squad. The entire weekend is filled with lots of fun and different activities for Pug lovers and their sweet babies (not all Pugs). Money raised is divided amongst the Pug rescues and sanctuaries in attendance. The amazing outdid themselves, again, this year and raised $56,000!!!!! After paying invoices and splitting the proceeds amongst the rescues who participated, MAPR was given $4279 and made an additional $289 from our merch table!! We are SO grateful for the volunteers of Pug Squad for what they do and the overwhelming amount of work it takes to host such a large, fun event!!

A special thank you to Kate Hughes who participated last year and represented MAPR by herself, then shared her experience. She did a great job organizing MAPR events and keeping all of us MAPR volunteers on schedule/in line this year. Dates have not been announced for Pug Camp 2027, however once they are, we will post on social media and strongly encourage you to go. We had MAPR reps coming from multiple directions by car, van and airplanes to participate. Guaranteed good time!

Thank you !!!

🐶 Meet the Adventurous Eddie & Charlie!

🧀 "Eddie and Charlie were adopted together as a bonded pair from MAPR in November 2024, completing their family. These sweet boys love traveling and going on vacations with their family, checking on their veggie garden, spending time on the water, eating cheese, chasing squirrels, and snuggling in their king-size bed that they allow the humans to sleep in. The absolute best boys."—Forever Family
