Students Step Up to Help Prepare the Winter Shelter.

A dedicated group of Franklin & Marshall College student volunteers lent their time and energy to help prepare Tenfold’s Winter Shelter for the months ahead. The students helped move new beds, awarded through a grant managed by the Lancaster City Housing & Redevelopment Authority (LCHRA), into the shelter and set them up for use.

Their teamwork, enthusiasm and willingness to take on this important project helped the work go quickly while creating a safe, welcoming space where our neighbors can rest during the coldest months. We are grateful for their hard work and commitment to serving our community—and it was a joy to work alongside these bright and energetic students!

"Join us for Building Belonging: A Faith Community Summit on Housing on Saturday, October 24, from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM at Highland Presbyterian Church.
Faith leaders, congregational leaders, and engaged members will come together to learn more about Lancaster County’s housing challenges and explore the many ways faith communities can respond.

Your congregation doesn’t have to be ready to build housing to be part of the solution. Participants will hear from congregations and community partners already taking action, explore different pathways for engagement, and consider what might be possible in their own faith communities.

The day will feature keynote speaker Rev. Dr. John Cleghorn, local housing context, panel conversations, and opportunities to connect with others from across Lancaster County.
