Donation Policy
he Garrard County Public Library accepts gifts of new or gently-used books, magazines, DVDs, and music or books on CD.

The library offers a wide variety of services - books and movies to check out, free downloadable materials, fax, copy, scanning and notary service, genealogy and local history information and programs for all ages! Decisions on whether and how donated items will be added to the Library's collections are based on the same evaluative criteria that are applied to purchased materials. The Library acce

Story Time will be at its normal time and spot in the library tomorrow morning.

The Driver's License Pop-Up event is taking place in the old EKU building. If you are attending the pop-up event, parking is available on the square. You are also welcome to park in the back library parking lot and walk through the building to get to the event space.

THAT IS A WRAP ON SUMMER READING!!

What an incredible summer we had digging into books, tracking reading goals, and getting creative together as we set out to Unearth a Story. We want to send a giant thank you to all of our amazing readers and families who came out, checked out books, attended events, and filled our library with so much energy. A special thank you goes to the talented performers who kept us entertained all summer long with their fantastic shows, and to our generous sponsors whose donated prizes that helped make our program such a success. Congratulations to all of our prize drawing winners. We hope you enjoy your rewards, because you truly earned them.

TODAY IS THE DAY!

Join us at the Garrard County Public Library this evening, July 31st, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for Dinosaurs with Jen Viele.

Jen is a retired LES teacher, co-founder of the Dinosaurs of the Hell Creek Museum, and Paleoadventures field guide with over a decade of excavation experience in South Dakota. Stop by to see real dinosaur fossils and models, discover how ancient finds are excavated, and learn about fossil restoration. Don't miss this chance to step back in time with a real paleontology expert. Bring the whole family!

We Have Big News for Garrard County Readers!

The Garrard County Public Library, in partnership with the Garrard/Lincoln Early Childhood Council, is thrilled to announce that Little Free Libraries are now open at Jaycee’s Ballpark Pavilion and Natalie’s Café! These book sharing boxes are 100% free and open to everyone on a simple honor system! Take a book you want to read, leave one for others to discover, or borrow a copy to enjoy while you're out. A huge special thanks goes to Randall Williams and his grandson for all their hard work getting these installed!

We're making it easier than ever for readers of all ages to grab a great book right in their favorite local hangouts. Keep your eyes peeled, as another Little Free Library will be installed very soon at The Denny House’s new event space in Paint Lick. Next time you head out, drop by a box, pick out a story, and bring along a few books from home to share with your neighbors!

Dinosaur Fossils & Fun: Friday! Join retired Lancaster Elementary teacher and co-founder of the Dinosaurs of the Hell Creek Museum, Jenn Viele, for an amazing presentation with real fossils!

Teens After Hours (Grades 6–12): Games, snacks, and hanging out after the library closes!

This event is reserved exclusively for Garrard County residents. Appointments are required and filled on a first come, first served basis, so don't wait!

We are transforming the library into a prehistoric laboratory where tweens can explore the explosive world of volcanology through hands-on discovery. You will rotate through various interactive stations featuring messy science experiments, creative crafts, and even some "lava-themed" snacks to keep your energy up. TODAY from 1-3pm!
