Iron Ridge Fire Rescue

Yesterday afternoon we received notice that the LSA grant that was submitted as a joint municipal application between West Hempfield Township and Mountville Borough, PA was awarded! This grant will allow us to upgrade the key card system at the Mountville station (Station 2), add keycard readers to the remaining doors at the West Hempfield station (Station 1) and to add Station 2 to the existing control system at Station 1. This project was quoted at just over $160k for all of the work. This project will allow us to better protect the assets at both stations, while allowing us to grant access to all of our members at both stations. PA State Rep. Brett Miller has always been an advocate and big supporter of the first responder community and this is just another example of his selfless work for the emergency services in his district.

This morning, Junior FF. Ethan Warfel participated in the annual Lancaster PA 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb, honoring the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Each step serves as a reminder of their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to others.

We are proud of Ethan for taking part in this meaningful tradition and joined fellow first responders in ensuring their memory lives on.

We climb because they climbed. We remember because we will never forget. 🇺🇸

A special addition to our Community Safety & Wellness Fair!

We are honored to welcome Mr. Jim, a retired FDNY firefighter, as a special guest speaker on Friday, September 11. Mr. Jim will share his powerful and personal story about his experiences as a first responder during 9/11.

His presentation will begin at 7:45 PM, as we come together as a community to remember and honor the first responders and all those impacted by September 11, 2001.

Bring the whole family out for an evening dedicated to keeping our community safe, healthy, and connected. This FREE event will have something for all ages, including fire and safety demonstrations, fire truck and ambulance tours, the chance to spray a fire hose, hands only CPR, certified car seat safety checks, blood pressure checks, the AmeriHealth mobile health bus, health and wellness resources, local businesses, nonprofits, craft vendors, food trucks, kids’ activities, and more!

Back-to-School Ready!

Thanks to the generosity of our community and our friends at the West Hempfield Township Police Department, Iron Ridge Fire Rescue is able to hand out backpacks and pencil pouches filled with school supplies to local children at the Mountville Community Picnic hosted by Mountville Borough, PA and Mountville Lions Club, as they get ready to head back to school!

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and helped make this possible. Your support allows us to continue giving back to the community we’re proud to serve.
