The barn is buzzing with excitement as we get ready for tomorrow’s GMTRC Horse Show! The team and volunteers have been hard at work preparing the arena, sprucing up the grounds, getting horses show-ready, and making sure all the little details are in place for a special day.

Of course, an event like this doesn’t happen without an incredible community behind it. 💙 We’re so grateful to the generous sponsors who help make the Horse Show possible. You’ll find their names in the photo below!

🐴💙 A Last Ride Together

When Nando needed time to recover from eye surgery, Liz found a new lesson partner in Oreo. While we all hoped Nando would be able to return to lessons before the Horse Show, we knew we had to let him set the pace of his recovery.

And then, just in time, Nando came back to lessons like a champ. 💙

This week, Liz and Nando were reunited for their first ride together in a while, giving them one more lesson before they take on the Horse Show together this Saturday.

After the show, Liz will continue her lessons with Oreo, with Nando's official blessing to keep going with his buddy. 🥹

Goodbyes are hard, especially when a horse has been such an important part of your journey. But Nando reminds us that sometimes having a brave heart means having enough courage and love to let go. The connection he has built with Liz and so many others at GMTRC won’t disappear when he leaves the lesson program. It will simply take a different shape.

And knowing Nando, we think he’s going to thoroughly enjoy his retirement. ❤️

💙 THREE THINGS OUR HORSES WANT YOU TO KNOW

As we begin Su***de Prevention Week, our herd has a few things to remind you of:

🐴 You are worthy of love.
Every horse that comes through our barn has a unique personality, story, and place in the herd. So do you. Your worth isn’t determined by what you accomplish, how you feel today, or how difficult life may be right now.

🐴 You were never meant to go it alone.
Horses teach us the power of connection. When life gets hard, reaching for a trusted friend, family member, mentor, counselor, or another caring person can make all the difference. And for those who know someone who is struggling, don’t underestimate the power of simply showing up, listening, and reminding them that they matter.

🐴 Your story still has chapters to be written.
Every horse has something unique to bring to the herd. Every person carries gifts, purpose, and a story that is beautiful to see unfold. Even when you can’t see what comes next, there can still be hope ahead.

If you have struggled with suicidal thoughts, you are not a burden, and you are not alone. And if someone you love is struggling, you don’t have to have all the answers. Start with connection. Listen. Stay. Help them find support.
