The “Spoon Game”

Jackson Advantage Lancaster students and mentors kicked off the Fall Semester with some friendly “family” competition by taking on The Spoon Game, a fun elimination game that will have everyone watching their backs!
Here’s how the game works: Everyone is given a spoon that they must keep in their hand while at school. Each person is assigned a specific target, and the goal is to “spoon” your target by catching them without their spoon in their hand.
You can only spoon your assigned target. Once you’ve been spooned, you’re officially out of the game!
Of course, there are safe zones. Students cannot be spooned while they’re in class or participating in a sport or school activity.
Once you spoon your target, you’re assigned a new target and the game continues. The competition keeps going until there’s only ONE person left standing!
Let the games begin!

S/o to Mr. Bair and our Advantage Lancaster families for participating in Conestoga Valley Christian Community Service (CVCCS) toy drive. Our group was small but they were mighty in completing their mission.

Jackson Advantage Lancaster mentors held their first meeting of the year this week. Ice Cream Floats, Team Building Activities, and mentorship expectations were on the agenda. Ms. Sefcik and Mr. Meadows are excited to bring 15 new students into the Advantage Lancaster family! A special shout out to Mr. Pinkard, Mrs. Meadows and Mr. Bair for joining us this week to meet some new faces and join in the fun. Extra special thanks to high school student Daisy for stopping in to help with our activities!

Big congratulations to Advantage Lancaster alum and current University of Richmond student Genesis Meadows on receiving a $15,000 scholarship from the USTA Foundation!

Genesis continues to give back to Advantage Lancaster during her summer breaks while pursuing a degree in Math Economics with a minor in Data Science.

On campus, she serves as an RA, Treasurer of the NAACP chapter, and Manager of the Women’s Basketball Team. We’re proud of Genesis and all she continues to accomplish!
