Blueprints Specialty Programs
Access. Education. Advocacy.
When you see a police vehicle pull up, you probably don’t expect Leanna to step out with them. 🚔🤝
But that is exactly what a supportive, collaborative community response looks like.
Leanna works directly alongside our local law enforcement partners, stepping onto the scene when a neighbor is navigating a mental health crisis, substance use, or one of the hardest days of their life. Her role isn’t to enforce—it’s to listen, share resources, offer unshakeable peer advocacy, and build immediate pathways to stability.
“Law enforcement and I may have different roles, but we're working toward the same goal, helping our community. At the heart of what we do, we are here to love people. Sometimes that starts with simply showing up.”
We are incredibly grateful to West Lampeter Township Police East Hempfield Township Police Department Manheim Township Police Department Borough of Strasburg PA for collaborating with our co-responder teams every single day to ensure no one in our neighborhood has to face a crisis alone. 💙

[Part 2 of 3] 🧵 • “I spent months in the hospital. My sister was standing over the bed and was crying. That was incredibly difficult. But she was beyond supportive of me.”
Waking up to a months-long hospital stay and facing deep depression was incredibly difficult. But backed by the support of his family and a direct care connection, Drew transitioned into intensive outpatient care. After a year of intense dedication and hard work, he went completely full-circle to become a Certified Recovery Specialist.

[Part 3 of 3] 🧵 “I think the moment that I realized that this is the job I want to do... help people get into treatment. It's a full-circle moment, and I really love that I can do the same thing now.”
This is how our story ends—and where real community change begins. For Recovery Month, our team member Drew is wrapping up his 3-part journey by showing us what true full-circle hope looks like.
After surviving a massive medical crisis and finding his own footing in treatment, Drew realized his purpose wasn't just to recover; it was to stand on the front lines and build a bridge for the next person.
Today, as a Certified Recovery Specialist, he walks right back into those exact same hospital environments to meet individuals in crisis and help them coordinate their own pathways to stability.
Drew is living proof that recovery is always possible. Head back to our profile to watch Parts 1 and 2 from the beginning, and see how our community steps up to make sure no one has to walk the path to wellness alone. 💙
[Part 1 of 3] For Recovery Month, our team member Drew shared a deeply personal look into his journey. Before becoming a Certified Recovery Specialist, Drew faced severe addiction, a life-threatening medical crisis in the hospital, and a prognosis that left his family wondering if he would ever wake up.
In this first part, Drew takes us back to his darkest hour and the turning point that changed his life forever.
Tap that follow button to join us as we dive into how a single connection made all the difference, and how our community steps up to make sure no one has to walk the path to wellness alone. 💙

It is incredibly hard to look toward tomorrow when today feels so uncertain—whether that means figuring out a safe place to sleep, finding a ride to an appointment, or wondering where your next paycheck will come from.
Stability helps create the foundation for change.
In July, our Specialty Programs team was out in the community : meeting people exactly where they are, listening, and walking alongside them to help connect to these life-changing pieces of the puzzle.
But the real magic happens in the handoffs.
True, lasting change is only sustainable because of the incredible community partners, local organizations, and neighbors who step up with us.
Every single connection made to housing, transportation, and employment represents a bridge built together. Thank you to everyone in our community who helps clear the path so others can move forward. 🤝✨
They weren’t ready yet. We didn’t stop showing up. 💙
One individual reached out to Arvin, a Certified Recovery Specialist, while facing housing instability, living in an abandoned building, and actively using substances.
At first, they weren’t ready to accept help.
So Arvin kept showing up.
He visited the individual several times, meeting them where they were and taking the time to build rapport. When they were ready to take the next step, Arvin connected them with our Case Manager Jill, who helped work through some of the immediate barriers — including obtaining identification and setting up a bank account.
From there, the individual was connected to a high-acuity substance use disorder rehabilitation program.
Sometimes, the first step isn't treatment. It's connection. Its commitment to this work.
It takes understanding, encouragement, patience, and perseverance to meet people where they are and stay connected until they're ready for the next step.
We meet you where you are. 💙

July was a month of impact, connection, perseverance & significant change. 💙
In the middle of the month, the way our Specialty Programs team showed up in the community changed. After transitioning out of the Lancaster City drop-in center, our team continued bringing the work directly to where people are — out in the community, on foot, and alongside our community partners.
And the work continued! 🔥🙏🏽
In July, our team had:
297 participant encounters
11 peer support engagements
87 people connected with case management services
78|51 behavioral health screenings & connections
Each number represents an opportunity to connect with someone, understand what they need, and help them take the next step.
But numbers can’t show everything. 🧐
They don’t show the conversations happening on sidewalks, the time spent helping someone navigate a resource, the connections made through a community partner, or the moments when someone simply needed another person to show up and walk alongside them.
That’s the heart of this work. We’re proud of a team that continues to meet people where they are — and of the community partnerships that help make that possible.
The way we show up may change. The commitment to showing up doesn’t.
Wherever you are, we’ll meet you there. 💙
What does the journey through Specialty Programs look like? 🛤️
The answer is: it depends on the person.
Someone may connect with our team through a hospital, community organization, law enforcement, outreach, or another referral. What happens next depends on what that person needs.
Sometimes that means help finding housing or employment. It might mean connecting to healthcare, peer support, transportation, or benefits. It may involve support across multiple areas of life—or simply one connection that helps someone take the next step.
Some connections last weeks or months. Others grow into relationships that continue for years. 🫂
Sometimes that connection happens in a hospital. Sometimes it happens out in the community. Wherever it begins, our team is there to help people navigate what comes next.
Every person brings a different story, different needs, and a different place to begin.
Wherever you are, we'll meet you there. 💙
