We have another packed week in The Children's Department!

Cookie Excavation is happening tomorrow, August 4th, at 3:00 pm. Come do what the experts do as we carefully unearth chocolate chip "fossils" and lay them out on a grid for identification, sorting and counting.

Dino Trinket Dish making is taking place on August 5 at 3:00 pm. We have the supplies for you to make a trinket dish. This is a small container to hold your tiny keepsakes like rings or keys. Decorate them with dinosaurs, eggs, or make a prehistoric scene.

We are hosting the Dinolympics on Friday, August 7, at 3:00 pm. Children ages 5 and up are invited to compete in a series of events that will test their endurance. We are especially looking forward to the Raptor Rapids Reading Relay!

We are officially halfway through summer which means garden harvest season is underway. If you are collecting seeds from your garden plants soon, consider donating some to our seed library. Please label all donations clearly. Grow instructions are not necessary, but can be helpful! Did you grow anything from seeds you got at the library? We would love to see pictures or hear about your garden experiences. Send your photos and garden stories to Laura at [email protected]

Looks like the dinosaurs escaped! Good thing we have a lot of smart helpers stopping by to repair the fences and capture the dinosaurs before the helicopter leaves.

Spots are filling up for our dinosaur themed escape room! Make sure to register for a 45 minute session on either Friday (7/31) or Saturday (8/1) and see if you and your friends can escape Jurassic Island.

Representative Joanna McClinton is hosting a Senior Appreciation Fair this Friday at Friendship Circle. Stop by for health resources and say hi to us at the Delaware County Libraries booth!

Learn about healthy living at every age. Our next session of From Start to STRONG for seniors is Friday 7/24.

We have another full week of summer reading activities happening at the library this week!

The third installment of The Mesozoic Matinee takes place this Wednesday at 12:30. This program is intended for older children since some of the dinosaur scenes are intense.

The Music Instrument Petting Zoo is coming this Thursday at 3:00. This program is appropriate for all ages. You may consider bringing ear protection for younger ears, as there are many types of instruments to touch and play.

Friday afternoon, starting at 1:00 is a program called History Bricks. Children will have the opportunity to use our mammoth-sized collection of building bricks to make dinosaurs and prehistoric scenes.
