FAQ: What does a PAC actually do?

You’ve probably heard the acronym plenty of times. But what does a Political Action Committee actually do?

A PAC allows individuals who share common professional interests to pool voluntary contributions and support candidates for elected office. For NABIP members, that means creating a stronger collective voice for the health insurance and benefits professionals whose work is directly affected by decisions made in Lansing and Washington.

It isn’t a substitute for advocacy. It’s one of the tools that helps make advocacy more effective.
