🎨💦 Our residents really hit the mark during our latest creative activity!

Armed with water guns, paint, and plenty of imagination, everyone had a blast creating colorful paintings. Each work of art was unique, showcasing the talent and creativity that fills our community.

The results were so impressive that we're starting to think we should rename ourselves Red Cedar Lodge Gallery! 😄🖼️

Activities like these encourage creativity and trying something new—and judging by the smiles (and the artwork!), this one was definitely a success.

We recently hosted our very first Family Night, and what better way to celebrate than with a tropical Luau! Residents, families, and friends gathered for an evening filled with delicious food, festive décor, and plenty of island fun.

Guests enjoyed a menu featuring coconut shrimp, teriyaki meatballs, chicken and pineapple skewers, and a refreshing Blue Hawaiian specialty cocktail. Everyone also had a great time posing for photos at our beach-themed backdrops while showing off their colorful flower leis.

We loved bringing everyone together for our first Family Night and can't wait to host many more memorable celebrations in the future! 🌺🍍☀️

👨‍🍳🍽️ In honor of National Culinary Arts Month, we're excited to introduce one of the newest members of our Red Cedar Lodge family—our Dietary Supervisor, Gary!

Although Gary has been with us for just five weeks, he's already making a wonderful impression. Born and raised in Michigan, Gary has spent his entire life in the Great Lakes State and has been passionate about cooking since he was a teenager. He began working in the culinary industry at 16, landed his first cooking position at 18, and by age 24 had entered the world of fine dining.

Starting as a dishwasher in a traditional French brigade kitchen, Gary worked his way through the ranks over four years to become Chef de Cuisine, a role he proudly held for three years.

During the pandemic, Gary discovered a new passion—serving seniors. He found great joy in building relationships with residents, getting to know their favorite foods, dietary needs, and personal preferences. That connection is what inspired him to continue his career in senior living.

Gary says it has been an absolute pleasure getting to know everyone at Red Cedar Lodge, and he looks forward to serving our residents for many years to come.
