Post Oak Academy is the first school in mid-Michigan authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program. Post Oak and its staff are committed to the IB concept and are actively undertaking the rigorous authorization process. The Primary Years Program (PYP) is an international program that focuses on the whole child from an academic, social, physical, emotional, and cultural standpoint. Post Oak gives students an option of a 50/50 Chinese Immersion Program (where students in grades Pre-K to 5 learn half the day in English and half the day in Chinese, while students in grades 6-8 receive Mathematics, Social Studies, and Chinese Language Arts in Mandarin! Post Oak Academy is currently a School of Candidacy for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program in grades 6-8.

Five minutes can make a difference. Listen when your child shares a problem, ask questions, and help them think through what they can do next. Together, our children succeed.
Spirit Week for Post Oak starts Monday, October 5. It was planned by our 8th graders and one of our 8th grade artists will be designing the week's plan. Look for it tomorrow!

Kindness Kicks Off Tomorrow! It is a Lansing School District initiative to spread more kindness into our community! We can't wait to see our students demonstrating their IB Learner Profile, highlighting their CARING attributes! This can be the place to share what they are doing in the Lansing Community! Let's see how many posts we can get!

Please know our intent is to keep all of our campus safe. We want to continue to be an inviting school but our number one focus in the office is safety. That is uncompromising.

Pledge to be Great, Stay Less Than 8.
Each Friday, families will receive a text message with an attendance check for their child. The message will let families know how many days their child has been absent and where they stand in relation to our district goal of staying below eight absences for the school year.
It is simply an attendance check so families can stay informed and so we can work together before absences begin to add up.
