Spartan Irrigation

Watering on a fixed schedule wastes more water than most homeowners realize, especially when the weather does not cooperate with the calendar. Spartan Irrigation installs a handful of smart devices that make an irrigation system work a lot more efficiently, cutting down on waste without sacrificing coverage anywhere on the property throughout the season. Smart Controllers Adjust Watering to Actual Weather A smart controller pulls local weather data and adjusts the watering schedule automatically instead of running on a fixed timer regardless of conditions. That means less water on days when rain is already doing the job, and a system that adapts to changing conditions throughout the season instead of running on autopilot all summer long. Once the sprinklers are winterized, the yard does not have to go dark for the season. Spartan Irrigation has been installing landscape lighting alongside irrigation systems for fifty years, and September is when the calendar for both accent lighting and holiday displays starts to fill. A little planning now means the house looks its best exactly when the neighborhood is watching. Lighting Design Shapes How the Home Looks at Night Good landscape lighting is about restraint. Uplighting … Continued

Pressure should be checked at startup to confirm the system is operating within its designed range. Adjust Your Schedule as the Season Changes Many homeowners set their irrigation controller in spring and do not touch it again until … Continued

Spring Establishment Depends on Consistent Moisture Whether you are encouraging a newly seeded lawn to germinate, helping an established lawn recover from winter dormancy, or trying to get fertilizer nutrients to move into the root zone effectively, consistent soil moisture is the common denominator. Michigan’s spring weather is notoriously unpredictable — several dry weeks can follow a rainy stretch without much warning, and hand watering is rarely consistent or thorough enough to keep pace with a lawn’s … Continued
