Ingham County Health Department AmeriCorps Programs

ICHD's AmeriCorps State Program serves populations experiencing disproportionately high rates of obesity and chronic disease. AmeriCorps State members teach nutrition education, promote exercise, distribute food, and support families in growing their own food. AmeriCorps members spend a summer or a year at local nonprofit organizations targeting underserved communities. The ICHD's AmeriCorps VISTA Program (Power of We AmeriCorps VISTA) seeks to bring communities out of poverty through education and community & economic development. VISTA members serve with local nonprofits throughout Ingham County and commit to one year of full-time service.
