October is almost here, and we have a lot to look forward to at 517 Professionals!

First, a quick reminder: There are NO meetings this week September 23 or next Wednesday, September 30. Use the break to get those Member-to-Members in, grab coffee or drinks with someone you haven’t connected with lately, and keep building those relationships!

Then we’re BACK in October with three very different meetings:

OCTOBER 7 | CONNECT + CREATE
We’re bringing back our roundtable-style meeting, and this month we’re creating something we can ALL use: a Master Lansing Area Networking List!

So many of us are involved in different networking groups, chambers, organizations, events, and communities throughout the Greater Lansing area. The more we know about what’s out there, the more opportunities we have to make connections, meet new people, and grow our networks.

Come ready to share the groups you know and help us build a resource we can all walk away with!

OCTOBER 14 | COMMUNITY SUPPORT
We will NOT be meeting at Reno’s as usual this week!

Instead, we’ll be supporting Ashley Crosser and Highfields at their annual breakfast. If you’d like to attend and haven’t signed up yet, reach out to Ashley directly to see if there is still room.

OCTOBER 21 | PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
We’re excited to welcome Rylie Stiles to lead our October Professional Development session!

Social media is always changing, and whether you post every day or struggle to post at all, there’s always something we can improve. Rylie will be helping us look at how to dial in our messaging, create content that feels authentic to our brands, get out of our heads, and make social media feel a little more FUN without letting it take over our lives.

And that’s one of the things that makes 517 Professionals different.

We don't have the exact same meeting every single week. We rotate between Connect + Create, Expert Member, and Professional Development to keep things fresh, useful, and focused on helping our members become better business owners, connectors, and community leaders.

Small room. Big network.

Today was our roundtable week! We had a great discussion around how we can help each other connect, introductions we need and community resources that would be beneficial to us. Such a wonderful group of people to collaborate with! Also huge congratulations to Tara S Herald for being our member of the month! She has been on fire promoting the group and its members lately! 🔥

The goal of this weeks meeting is to get into smaller groups and help each find the connections we are looking for. So come with an idea of the type of people, industries or rooms you are looking to connect and be in!

What is one connection, opportunity, or community resource that would be valuable to you right now? - is the question we will be asking! The goal isn't to just get what you need but to also come with ideas and support for others in the room!

Networking should be more than collecting business cards and hoping someone remembers what you do.

That’s why we’re switching things up at 517 Professionals with Connect & Create Week!

This month, we’re getting into small groups for a Community Connection Map activity designed to help us look beyond the people already sitting at the table.

We’ll be talking about:
• Who would be a valuable connection for you right now?
• What organizations, events, or opportunities should you know about?
• Where could you be getting more involved in the Greater Lansing community?
• And most importantly, who do YOU know that could help someone else in the room?

The goal isn't to walk away with a stack of business cards.

It’s to walk away with **a new connection, an introduction, a resource, an opportunity, or an action you can actually take.**

Because one of the best parts of building a strong network isn't just who you know , it’s who your network knows.

Come connect, create, and see what happens when we put our networks together.
