Forest View Elementary Lansing

This week's High 5 for Parents: Support Academics.
Small steps at home support big learning! Check ParentVUE, ask about school, encourage homework, and make time for reading. Together, our children succeed.

You belong here, Forest View families! Your voice matters. Join us for the first Forest View Family Voices meeting on Thursday, September 24, at 5:00 p.m. in the library. We hope to see you there!

Our 3rd grade Forest View scholars are off to Camp Ebersole! We hope they have an amazing day filled with adventure, learning, friendship, and fun.

The week's High 5 for Parents - Support Academics!
Helping your student with their academics will help them stay focused and feel supported. To start, make sure to routinely check your ParentVue account and speak with their teachers regularly.
If your student is younger, read to them at night before bed, and if they are older, encourage them to read as part of their daily routine. Reinforce their homework to make sure they stay on task and on path for graduation.
Your presence in your child's academic journey makes all of the difference.

Help your child scroll safely. Remind them to think before posting, protect personal information, and tell a trusted adult if something online doesn’t feel right. Together, our children succeed.

A High 5 for Parents reminder about social media - stay connected to your child’s online world. Ask what apps they use, who they talk with, and what they’re seeing. A simple conversation can make a big difference. Together, our children succeed.

Know a teacher who goes above and beyond for students? Nominate them today!

In partnership with the Lansing Promise, the Kellie P. Dean Teacher Scholarship will recognize two deserving Lansing School District teachers making a difference in and beyond the classroom.

Students, parents/guardians, colleagues and teachers themselves are encouraged to submit nominations.

Thank you for checking those backpacks this week - it makes a huge difference and sets your child up for success. Please continue to check throughout the year so your child is ready for safe and productive school days.

Next week, students will participate in age-appropriate lessons and discussions about our school safety procedures.

Each day will focus on a different topic: general and fire safety, tornado safety, Secure, Hold, and Lockdown/ALICE.

Preparation helps students respond calmly and confidently.

A quick backpack check can help your child arrive prepared and keep the school day focused. Look for needed supplies, completed work, and important school papers. Remove toys, unnecessary electronics, or anything that does not belong at school.
