Lansing Illinois Police Department would like to thank the American Legion Post 697. They planned and executed a "Back the Blue" charity motorcycle ride today. This resulted in a generous donation to LPD. We would like to give a special thanks to all who participated.

The Legion Riders had a great day serving up hamburgers/polish sausage/hot dogs/corn to our community at the last cruise night last night. Thank you to all that came out and supported us!

On Saturday, July 18, 2026, the American Legion Riders Chapter 697 proudly hosted our 13th Annual Salute to Our Servicemen Ride. Thanks to the tremendous support of our riders, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community members, this year's event was another outstanding success.

The day began with rider registration and a beautiful motorcycle ride, followed by an afternoon of great food, live music, raffles, silent auction items, and fellowship at the Post. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to support our mission of honoring and assisting our servicemen and women.

This event would not have been possible without the generosity of the many businesses and individuals who donated merchandise, gift certificates, services, food, and monetary contributions. Their kindness helped make our raffles and auctions a tremendous success, and we are sincerely grateful for their continued support.

We would also like to recognize our dedicated volunteers. From planning and setup to registration, cooking, serving food, selling raffle tickets, working the silent auction, and cleaning up afterward, countless hours were donated by members, family, and friends. Your hard work is the reason this event continues to grow each year.

These funds will allow the American Legion Riders Chapter 697 to continue supporting veterans, active-duty military personnel, military families, and community programs throughout the coming year.

Every rider who participated, every volunteer who gave their time, every sponsor who donated, and every person who purchased a raffle ticket or shared our event played an important role in this year's success.

On behalf of the officers and members of American Legion Riders Chapter 697, thank you for helping make the 13th Annual Salute to Our Servicemen Ride one of our most successful events yet.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for our 14th Annual Salute to Our Servicemen Ride!
