Celebrating Marie’s Four Years of Service 🎉

For the past four years, Marie has been an invaluable part of our team and a familiar, caring presence for the people of the 110th District.

Working at the front desk and in constituent services, Marie has been an important connection between our office and the people we are honored to represent. Serving one of the geographically largest House districts in Michigan is no small task, and she has approached that responsibility with excellence, compassion, and genuine dedication.

For so many constituents across all six counties of the district, Marie has been one of the first people they turned to when they called or walked through our doors looking for help. Whether someone had a question, needed assistance navigating an issue, or simply needed someone to listen, Marie met them with patience, kindness, and a sincere desire to help.

Over these four years, she has set an incredible example of what constituent service should look like. Her consistency, compassion, and commitment have made a lasting difference—not only in our office, but in the lives of the countless people she has helped along the way. The 110th is the furthest district from Lansing in Michigan. Marie made it seem like next door for our constituents.

Marie, thank you for everything you have done for the 110th District and for the Michigan House of Representatives. Your hard work and dedication will not be forgotten, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, care, and heart you have given to our community.

We wish Marie all the very best in her future endeavors and thank her for four outstanding years of service as she moves onto a new chapter of life!

College Fair at Bay College — September 14th & 15th:

Over 35 colleges, universities, military services, and trade schools will be represented at college fairs held at both Bay College campuses. The first event will take place on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. local time at the Bay College Escanaba Campus in the Besse Center Galleries, followed by the Iron Mountain event on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. in the Lower Commons. Both events are free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to register in advance. Registration opened on September 7, 2026. This is a great opportunity for students and families to connect with school representatives, explore career and education options, and learn more about what comes after high school.

It was my privilege to recognize Steve Palosaari with a Special Tribute for 50 years of service to the Houghton County Fair Board. Steve's dedication has left a lasting impact on our community. Thank you as well to the volunteers, vendors, fairgoers, and public safety personnel who helped make this year's fair another tremendous success. What a great reminder of what makes our community so special.
