Our Federal Programs team welcomed Mrs. Patricia Valenzuela who presented “Connecting Routines for School Success”. Mrs. Valenzuela is a vibrant, energetic, and experienced creator of programs that provide opportunities for parents to learn and reflect on their own lives and families and connect them with schools to unite for their children’s success.

We had a great turn out and are thankful to all that attended the session. We also want to recognize the campuses that helped support the event by inviting their parent to participate. Special recognition goes out to United South Middle School who had their Principal Mr. Carlos Valdez in attendance. Great way to create that positive culture and grow parent engagement on campus!

Congrats to the top campuses for parent participation:

1st Place United South Middle School

3rd Place United Middle School

Great way to start the 26-27 school year! Yesterday, our community came together to provide lots of supplies, haircuts, and various goodies for many students. The Washington Middle School Gym was filled with various organizations ready to welcome children and families to provide information on resources and giveaways. Mrs. Michelle Molina, UISD Board Member, organized the event successfully inviting UISD Federal Programs, SCAN, Gateway Community, Head Start, Rotex, Clear Choice, UISD Admissions team, UISD Library Services, Immaculate Cut Barber Institute, County Commissioner Ricky Jaime Pct. 4, Judge Salinas, Constable Rolando San Miguel Pct. 4, Laredo Police Dept. UISD Special Education Department, Communities in Schools, & Z93. In total the event served 685 students from UISD!❤️
Loved the community spirit in support of children!😁✏️📚🚌🎒🍎
