NOW ENROLLING — SAVATE

People see the kicks and punches and call it violent.

They miss the point.

Savate teaches discipline, control, confidence, and how to keep your head when pressure hits.

Real training isn’t about looking for trouble.

It’s about knowing how to handle yourself and having the control to walk away.

There comes a time when all that talking don’t mean much anymore. You either know what you’re doing, or you’re about to find out. My Professeur would look at me and say, “Attack me.” So I did—and that’s when the real education started.

Pain has a way of making the lesson clear. Leverage, pressure, balance, control, manipulation—you stop thinking you understand it and start knowing it because you felt it.

Every so often, I do the same with a student who has earned the rank and maturity for it. Not beginners. Not intermediates. At a certain level, I don’t care if you can explain the technique or make it look pretty. I want you to understand why it works, what it does, and what it feels like when it’s done right.

Some lessons get talked about. The important ones get felt.

People say Savate is violent, but they’re missing the bigger picture.

Sometimes a person walks in with a fire already burning inside him.

Savate doesn’t create that fire.

It teaches him how to control it.

The Savate gives him discipline, structure, confidence, and a place to channel that energy before it burns his life down out on the streets.

That’s the part people don’t always see.

SAVATE isn’t just about learning how to fight.

It’s about learning when not to. 🙏💯

I learned this the right way from Professeurs Jean-Paul Viviani and Roger Lafond. Not just the sport. Not just the pretty movement. I was taught how the weapon works for real—how to use it, how to defend against it, how to read the body language behind it, and how it ties directly into Savate Boxe Française.

At Buitron Academy, nobody touches this stuff because they think it looks cool. You earn your way into it. Once you reach Green Glove, you start learning the related weapon disciplines, and every glove rank adds another layer.

A lot of people in the United States see a cane and think Charlie Chaplin.

That tells me right away they don’t understand what they’re looking at.

This is not a prop. This is not a costume piece. This is not some cute little historical exercise.

It’s a fighting weapon.

The whole game is deception. Timing. Angles. Distance. Making you see one thing while something else is already coming at you.

In this video, I’m showing a lateral strike and the deception behind it. It comes fast, and if you don’t understand the mechanics, you’re already late.

And spare me the comparisons to whatever other system somebody happens to know. Learn this system before you judge it.

A hard cane strike can wreck a hand, break ribs, damage facial bones, and split somebody open if it lands clean.

So yeah, it looks elegant. So does a straight razor. Don’t confuse style with softness.
