🧷 WHAT IS DIAPER POVERTY?

Diaper poverty—also known as diaper need—is when families don’t have enough diapers to keep their babies clean, dry, and healthy.

And it’s about so much more than diapers.

When a mom can’t afford enough diapers, she may be forced to choose between diapers, groceries, transportation, utilities, or other basic necessities. Not having diapers can also affect childcare access, which can make it harder for parents to work or attend school.

💕 SheRises is helping change that.

Through our Mommy Closet and maternal support programs, we provide young moms with diapers, wipes, baby essentials, resources, and ongoing support—helping families meet an immediate need while protecting their dignity.

But we can’t do it alone.

💪 Meet Our Mommy Closet Muscles!

Every month, Paul, Tim, and Daniel roll up their sleeves and help make Mommy Closet happen. From loading and unloading our truck and distributing diapers to packing bags for moms and jumping in wherever they’re needed, these guys consistently show up ready to serve.

There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes into serving our moms each month, and we simply couldn’t do it without helping hands, and a little muscle! 😊

To our Mommy Closet Muscles, thank you for your consistency, your willingness to serve, and for caring so well for our moms, babies, and SheRises community.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we are SO grateful for you!

🎉 SEPTEMBER IS OUR ANNIVERSARY MONTH! 🎉

This month, SheRises celebrates 7 YEARS of serving young moms and their families! Seven years of showing up, believing in moms, meeting practical needs, creating opportunities, and reminding young mothers that their story does not end because motherhood began.

Over the years, that mission has taken many forms:

💕 Young Mothers Mentoring Program — walking alongside young moms with encouragement, resources, and one-on-one support.

🍼 Mommy Closet — providing diapers, wipes, baby essentials, clothing, resources, and a community of love and support.

🎓 On the Rise Scholarships — investing in young mothers pursuing education and building brighter futures for themselves and their children.

📚 Mommy University — equipping moms with practical, bite-sized learning around parenting, life skills, health, personal growth, and more.

And through every program, partnership, diaper distributed, conversation, hug, scholarship, and moment of encouragement, our heart has remained the same:

Every ride matters—even the short trips.

As part of Safe Moms & Safe Babies Month, SheRises is encouraging families to take a few minutes to make sure their little ones are riding safely.

✅ Keep your child rear-facing as long as possible
✅ Use the correct car seat based on your child's age, height, and weight
✅ Make sure harness straps are snug and secure
✅ Register your car seat and check for recalls
✅ Have your car seat checked by a certified technician

A properly installed car seat is one of the simplest ways to protect the precious cargo you love most.

Did you know that creating a safe sleep environment is one of the most important things you can do to protect your baby?

A safe sleep space can help reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths and give parents greater peace of mind.

🛏️ Remember:
✅ Always place baby on their BACK to sleep
✅ Use a firm sleep surface such as a crib, bassinet, or Pack 'n Play
✅ Keep blankets, pillows, toys, and loose bedding out of the sleep area
✅ Share a room, not a bed
