As one Leander Fire crew returns home from deployment, another is heading out to continue supporting communities across Texas battling ongoing wildfires.
We’re grateful to our returning crew for their service and commitment, and proud of the next team stepping up to answer the call.
To our returning crew: welcome home and thank you. To our deploying crew: stay safe, look out for one another, and we’ll see you when you get home.

This morning, Leander Fire Department gathered for a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the first responders who answered the call that day.
Twenty five years later, we continue to remember their courage, sacrifice, and service.
Today, we gathered to remember those we lost, honor those who served, and ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten.
At Leander Fire Department, a piece of steel recovered from the World Trade Center stands as a permanent reminder of that day and of the responsibility carried by those who choose a life of service.
September 11, 2001.

Tonight, we were honored to join the Mayor and City Council as they officially proclaimed September as National Preparedness Month and recognized the importance of personal and community preparedness in building a more resilient Liberty Hill.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Mayor and City Council for their support and commitment to preparedness throughout our community.
During tonight's meeting, we were also proud to present our achievement of being recognized as by the National Weather Service. This designation reflects our dedication to planning, communication, and readiness before severe weather strikes.
This accomplishment would not be possible without the strong partnerships and collaboration among the Liberty Hill Police Department, Public Works, City leadership, and staff across all departments. Being prepared and becoming is truly a team effort.
As we recognize National Preparedness Month, we encourage everyone to take steps to prepare themselves, their families, and their neighbors for emergencies. Together, we can continue building a safer, stronger, and more resilient Liberty Hill.
