If you are a Kentucky Colonel and you have ever thought about serving on a nonprofit board, this one is for you!
The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels is launching its first ever virtual Board Leadership Training and I am honored to be one of the presenters. We did a trial run earlier this year in-person and it was such a success, now we're doing a repeat - only virtually!
Over three Tuesday evenings in September (the 15th, 22nd, and 29th, 5:30 to 8:30 PM EDT), we will cover the real work of board service. Governance, financial responsibility, ethical leadership, and how to actually land the board seat you want.
Attendance at all three sessions is required to complete the program. If you have been waiting for a sign to step into board leadership, this is it. Colonels, check the August newsletter for the registration link or head over here:

On June 25 I had a hysterectomy. I'm six weeks post op, doing great, and ready to talk about it. This chapter taught me something I've said on stages for years, just in a way I never expected.
Self care is not a luxury. It's a strategy.

Before I could coach anyone else through this, I had to live it myself.
Less worry. Less shame. Less guilt. Less doubt. Less restriction. Less despair.
I know what it feels like to carry every single one of those things at once. And I know what it feels like to not even realize you're carrying them ... because you've been doing it so long it just feels like life.
That's exactly why I coach. Because I lived it. I did the work. I sat with a coach of my own and let her help me find my way to the "more" side of that list (and she's still doing it). And it changed everything.
THIS is the work I get to do for other women.
Which one of these hit you the hardest? Drop it in the comments. I genuinely want to know. 👇
And if you're ready to start moving toward your "more," let's talk. đź’—

None of us are free until all of us are free. Today on Juneteenth, let's please recommit to the truth that freedom is not fully realized until it is universal.
When I say I champion women stepping into their power, that means ALL women.
Today let's celebrate...let's reflect... and let's recommit.
Happy Juneteenth. 🖤🧡

Someone referred to this past month as “Maycember” I sure felt it!
Some great business highlights included being a camp counselor at Amanda Dare’s WOW (Women Owned Wallet) Leadership Camp in Louisville. My fave local restaurant, J. Renders Southern Table & Bar, celebrated 10 years of business! Sutherland & Associates wrapped up our biggest strategic plan client work of 2026, and we had a blast with amazing friends and associates with Sutherland and Associates at the annual Midway University Spotlight Award event! And attending Dancing with the Lexington Stars was a super fun way to end the month.
I had my first grant vetting process with the HOKC as a Trustee, and wow, what an experience! I traveled 500+ miles to various nonprofits, and I continue to support and advocate for the Ky Colonel Good Works Program (more on that, later).
In addition to several fantastic coaching, clients, and a repeat client who signed another engagement with me, I am so grateful to be doing what I love. And this coming week will kick off another great Woman Who Thrive meeting at Azur on Wednesday.
On a more personal note, we celebrated my mom’s 71st birthday. And our pollinator garden at home is starting to bloom! We are hopeful for many bees and butterflies passing through the summer.
Extremely grateful for my full beautiful life, and all of those of you in it. Thank you.

Did you forget that you are the Shero of your own journey?
Because sometimes life gets loud. Busy. Heavy. We slip out of the starring role of our own story without even noticing.
But here's what's always true .... you are still her. You've always been her.
The crown doesn't disappear when things get hard. It's still yours. Take a breath and put it back on. It's okay. And it's necessary.
Drop a crown in the comments if you needed this today. đź‘‘

Mother's Day is a beautiful holiday. It is also one of the most complicated days of the year for a lot of women.
For years, I was one of them.
I spent three years giving everything I had (my body, my savings, my hope) to becoming a mother. Two pink lines. Two heartbreaks. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I lost myself completely.
Choosing to stop trying was the hardest decision I have ever made. And calling myself "childless by choice" was an act of reclamation ...not defeat. It was the moment I decided my story was mine to tell. Not society's. Not a diagnosis. Mine.
If you are walking into this weekend carrying grief, longing, or a quiet ache you don't quite know how to explain, I see you. You are not broken. You are not less. You are a whole woman with a story worth owning.
This is why I do the work I do. I want to be the woman for you that I needed when I was going through it alone. đź’—
I wrote about my infertility journey a few years ago and it was very healing to put my story on paper. If any part of your story feels too heavy to carry alone right now, I'd love to talk. You don't have to figure this out alone.

I am BEYOND honored and lit up about this one. 🌟 I've been tapped as a Counselor at the very first Women Owned Wallet - a Leadership Conference for Trailblazers - and I cannot wait to pour into this room.
My session will be: "Self-Care Is Not Selfish… It's Strategy!" 👑
Because taking care of you is not a luxury... it's the foundation everything else is built on.
