Meet our newest research team member, Mackenzie!
Mackenzie is a second-year medical student at the University of Kentucky. Originally from Richmond, KY, she received her bachelor's in biology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Kentucky. She is a member on a UK College of Medicine board, which aligns with her research interest to investigate health differences experienced by Kentuckians. She is passionate about community health for Spanish-speaking immigrant and refugees, and plans to serve such populations as a future physician in Kentucky.
She enjoys volunteering in the local community and currently serves as the community partnerships president on the Lexington Latino Health Advocacy Association. She also leads as one of the community resource coordinators for the Salvation Army Clinic, and mentors elementary students at the Nathaniel Mission's afterschool program. Welcome to the team, Mackenzie! UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging
