Whoopsies. Sometimes this happens when 2 people are logged into the same page at the same time and it doesn’t update in the system. Thankfully it doesn’t happen often šŸ˜…šŸ˜†

My Optical was named The State’s Best in both Eye Care and Eyewear Shop…and it happened because of YOU.

Every vote, every visit, every referral, and every person who has trusted us with their vision helped make this possible. We never take that trust or your support for granted.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We are truly humbled, deeply grateful, and so proud to serve this community. 🧔

Eyeglasses are one of the first things people subconsciously notice about you. They tell a story whether you intend for them to or not.

Finding the right shape, size, color, and style isn’t just shopping…it’s an art. Your glasses should complement your features, reflect your personality, and help you put your best face forward.

Come see us, and let’s style your next pair (or pairs) to tell your story exactly the way you want it told. 🧔

At My Optical, our optical staff is professionally licensed…nationally certified and licensed by the State of South Carolina in both eyeglasses and contact lenses. Because your vision and your style deserve more than guesswork.

New Glasses, New Feeling: What’s Normal and What Isn’t? šŸ‘“

You picked up your beautiful new glasses, put them on and…something feels different. Don’t panic! Even with an accurate prescription, your eyes and brain may need time to adjust.

Your prescription is only one part of comfortable vision. An updated prescription, astigmatism correction, progressive lenses, lens design, frame shape and the position of the lenses in front of your eyes can all affect how you see.

During the adjustment period, you may temporarily notice:

• Mild eye strain or headaches
• Changes in depth perception
• A gentle ā€œswimmingā€ sensation
• Objects appearing slightly larger or smaller
• Floors or stairs looking unusual
• Needing to move your head differently with progressives

These sensations should gradually improve not remain severe or get worse. Wear your new glasses consistently, since frequently switching to your old pair may make adapting more difficult.

Sometimes the frame simply needs a professional adjustment. If your vision improves when you push your glasses up, one eye seems clearer, or the frame slides or sits crooked, return to the optical shop where you purchased them. Please don’t bend them yourself!

Contact your optical or eye doctor if you experience persistent blur, significant headaches, nausea, dizziness, double vision, eye pain, noticeably poorer vision in one eye or difficulty safely walking, using stairs or driving. Sudden vision loss, sudden double vision or severe eye pain requires prompt evaluation by an eye doctor.

At My Optical, our care doesn’t end when you pick up your glasses. Sometimes your eyes need time, sometimes your frame needs an adjustment and sometimes we need to take another look. Either way, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
