Our DSPs do incredibly important work every day. They build relationships, encourage independence, show up for the people we serve, and make a real difference in their lives and in our community.

So grateful for this team and the impact they make every single day. We appreciate you more than you know! 💙

Honored to attend the Medicaid Reality Check stop in Lexington tonight.

A huge thank you to the representatives, senators, and Medicaid Commissioner Lisa Lee for taking the time to put these conversations together and hear directly from the people who work within and rely on Kentucky Medicaid.

Tonight’s discussion covered some incredibly important issues, including potential future Medicaid cuts and budget concerns, the growing shortage of medical providers who accept traditional Medicaid, the move toward 6-month recertifications, and new work requirements. We were able to confirm that for waiver recipients, they will not switch to the 6-month recertifications or the work requirements, which was a relief.

These decisions have real consequences for real people. Providers, families, caregivers, and Medicaid recipients need to be part of these conversations.

There are additional Medicaid Reality Check stops coming up across Kentucky, and I strongly encourage people to attend and spread the word. It is crucial that we show up, ask questions, share our experiences, and make sure our voices are heard.

Advocacy matters. Protecting access to Medicaid services matters. Keep showing up and speaking up.

We postponed Camp ImpactLex once because of the heat, only to end up with another hot day when we rescheduled. 😂☀️

Thankfully, we had Katie’s Happy Hotdogs, Mister Softee Ice Cream Truck and a pretty great water balloon fight to help keep everyone going. Definitely a hot one, but a fun day at Camp ImpactLex!
