Today, the horse lost one of its greatest supporters.
Arthur Hancock embodied everything Light Up Racing stands for: integrity, honesty and an unwavering belief that the horse must always come first. He was prepared to speak when others stayed quiet, and spent much of his life calling on racing to protect both the animal and the sport built around it.
His own words say it best:
“How we treat the horse is a reflection on our industry and on each one of us… If you take care of the horse, the horse will take care of you.”
Rest in peace, Mr Hancock. Racing will miss your voice.
