Hello Friends it’s been a little while since I posted any new projects. I have tried to do some small things in between my current situation. I’m not one to sit idle and of course my love and passion for home decor and arts and crafts its hard for me to slow down but this recent heart issue has me struggling and I have to slow down, rest and heal.
I have a little health update I’m going to try and make it as brief as possible.
Last year after finishing my year long battle with all the breast cancer treatments, I had some good and not so good news. I’m in remission so far from my Stage 3c Breast Cancer! Thanking the lord for this blessing!
Unfortunately I had a TIA Stroke in September 2025. It took 8 months and several specialists (aka ENT, Neurologist, Cardiologist and Heart Surgeon) to find the cause. I had a hole in my heart!
It’s called a PFO it has a long complicated name, I was born with it and never knew i had it or had any real issues until last year when I had the mini stroke now at age 62 I was shocked to find out after undergoing several cardiology tests looking for the cause of the stroke. MRI’s, EKG’s, Echocardiograms, Cardio Bubble test, and more they felt this hole was the source. Age, Type 2 Diabetes, Asthma, Chemo and Radiation I am sure hadn’t helped.
In July of this year I had PFO Closure surgery having 6 months of recovery (to December) to hopefully lower my risks for any additional strokes.
Unfortunately I have had complications that resulted in two more emergency procedures within weeks of each other.
A heart cardioversion (they had to shock my heart back into a normal rhythm due to my heart having AFIB and a flutter which caused my heart rate to go up to 155 bpm) non stop.
A week later the rapid heart rate returned and I found myself in the ER once again. And had to have a heart ablation (where they burn some nerves inside my heart to stop the flutter) unfortunately I’m still experiencing complications (AFIB and a irregular heartbeat) Now I have the opposite issue… a low slow heart rate of 40-60 bpm.
I am currently on several new medications and a heart monitor while awaiting a CT Heart Angiogram procedure to look at the arteries surrounding my heart. I’m praying that this procedure will give me some relief and positive answers to put an end to all this.
