Yesterday's Chemistry lab on chemical reactions.

Our AP Environmental Science students recently had the opportunity to visit FoodChain to learn more about aquaponics and how sustainable food systems work in our community.

After the visit, he put that knowledge into action by helping reset our aquaponics system and propagating plants from last year’s system into our greenhouse!

It’s exciting to see students take what they learn and turn it into real, hands-on experiences. From exploring sustainable agriculture to growing our own plants, this is environmental science in action!

The School Dogs Are Back!

We’re excited to welcome two familiar furry faces back! Kimura and Willow are back in the building and ready for another great year!

Kimura is our 6 year old Husky/Collie mix and has been part of the Sphinx family for the past three years. She’s always happy to be part of the action!

Willow is our almost 2 year old Beagle/Dachshund mix, and this is her second year at Sphinx. She’s growing up fast and is excited to be back with her Sphinx family!

We’re so happy to have both of these four-legged members of our community back in the building. They’re ready for lots of pets, adventures, and another year of making Sphinx feel like home!

Independent study in action!

Our Art curriculum this year was intentionally built around the student as an independent study, giving them the freedom to explore, create, make artistic choices, and take ownership of their learning.

Field Trip Fridays Are Here!

This year we’re taking learning beyond the classroom with Field Trip Fridays! Each Friday, students will have opportunities to get out into the community, explore new places, and connect what we’re learning in class to real-world experiences.

We kicked off our first Field Trip Friday at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary, where students hit the trails for a hike and learned about watersheds and macroinvertebrates. It was a great opportunity to get outside, work together, and see science in action!

We’re excited for all of the adventures, learning, and community connections ahead this year!
