They mentor the officer standing next to them without being asked to. The Next Generation of Protectors Award exists to make sure those stories get told.

This award recognizes officers under 30 who are already setting the standard for what this profession looks like at its best. Nominees are judged on service, leadership, compassion, bravery, and genuine commitment to the people they protect.

The winner will also be considered for the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame's Young Officer Award.
