Driven by Tim Tetrick for trainer Anette Lorentzon and owner Madison Global, the son of IN RANGE was send off as the 2-5 favorite off of four previous victories and did not disappoint.

Bred and sold for $25,000 as a yearling in Ohio by Spring Haven Farm, he returned $2.80. The time was just a fifth of a second off the track record, and put BIG RANGER over $500,000 lifetime.

IT COULD BE WORSE finished second; MAGIC PUNK was third; SPENCER HANOVER and MINOAN round out the advancers.

AMERICAN POWER, CAPTAIN NAUGHTY and AI finished 3-4-5 in that sequence and also advance to the $1,000,000 final.

Dame Frances Fronts Freshmen for Red Mile KYSS Opening Round

LEXINGTON, Ky.— Erv Miller’s precocious Pebble Beach filly Dame Frances will look to stay undefeated following a track-record 1:50.4 performance at Oak Grove when she starts as the 2-1 morning line favorite in the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series opening leg at The Red Mile, carded as the sixth race on the 15-race card this Tuesday (Aug. 4).

Dame Frances motored first-up in the $80,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) final at Oak Grove on July 13th to win going away by 3-1/4 lengths while also registering the fastest mile of the year by any pacing 2-year-old on a five-eighths mile track. Atlee Bender remains at the controls as she’ll look to again put away Banana Beach (driven by Andy McCarthy, post 5, 7/2), another speedy Pebble Beach filly whose unbeaten streak was snapped with a runner-up finish in the KYSS final at Oak Grove, along with six other rivals that includes Seaside Ubeaut (Dexter Dunn, post 8, 9/2), a Downbytheseaside filly out of world champion mare Warrawee Ubeaut who enters from a 1:53.2 romp in a KYSS maiden event at Oak Grove.

The four-day race week at The Red Mile kicks off on Sunday night (Aug. 2) with a 14-race card headlined by an $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series division for freshmen pacing c**ts and geldings, slated as Race 11. An overflow field of 11 will align to compete with Wishawave (Scott Zeron, post 5, 5/2) earning morning-line favoritism off back-to-back wins at The Meadowlands including a 1:52.3 effort in a Kindergarten preliminary on July 24. Linda Toscano trains the Bettor’s Wish c**t who faces his toughest test yet as he competes against the likes of Gobstopper (Tim Tetrick, post 1, 8-1), who set the national season’s record for pacing freshmen with a 1:50.2 victory at The Meadowlands on July 18, as well as the scrappy Stay Hungry c**t Midnight Drive (Marvin Luna, post 11, 6-1), who sn**ched the $80,000 KYSS final at Oak Grove with a 1:52.4 effort in his most recent start.

Freshmen trotting c**ts and geldings highlight the Monday afternoon (Aug. 3) day of racing with an $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series dash scheduled as Race 11 on the 15-race card. Oak Grove KYSS champ Carbon Fiber (Yannick Gingras, post 4, 7/2), who took the $80,000 final on July 14th in a track-record 1:53 mile, collides with a Gimpanzee c**t out of world champion Mission Brief in Command Center (Dexter Dunn, post 7, 2-1), who is listed as the morning-line favorite off a 1:56.4 victory in his most recent qualifier with a :26.1 final quarter. The 10-horse field also attracts the second- and third-place finishers out of the Oak Grove KYSS final with Special Day (Andy McCarthy, post 3, 9/2) and Delivery Boy (Dewayne Minor, post 6, 6-1) competing.

Wednesday (Aug. 5) wraps the race week with a 14-race card that features an $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series division for 2-year-old trotting fillies, slated as Race 5. Heart Of Secret (Yannick Gingras, post 7, 5/2) enters as the morning-line favorite off a 1:54 stroll to win the $80,000 KYSS final at Oak Grove in her most recent start with runner-up Merry Zee (Andy McCarthy, post 10, 6-1) also competing. The field of 10 also attracts the In Range filly Kissme Ifyoucan (Austin Hanners, post 2, 7/2), whose only loss from four starts came with a runner-up finish in the $150,000 Next Generation at Scioto Downs on July 4. The filly, listed as the second choice on the morning line, also sits second in North America on seasonal earnings for her cohort with $107,500 banked through four starts.

Each day of racing at The Red Mile will also feature $30,000 divisions of Kentucky Commonwealth Series, $15,000 divisions of Kentucky Golden Rod Series and $10,000 divisions of Kentucky Wildcat Series. First-race post time at The Red Mile on Sunday night is 5:05 p.m. (EDT), and first-race post time Monday through Wednesday is 1:00 p.m. (EDT).

Hunterton Farm welcomes Market Share, It’s My Show

Paris, KY – Hunterton Farm has welcomed two new members to its retirement community of accomplished equines. Market Share 5,1:502f ($3,792,101) and It’s My Show p,3, 1:46.4 ($1,541,620) recently arrived at the Paris, KY farm.

“It’s a honor to have horses like them on the farm,” said Steve Stewart, who owns and operates Hunterton with his wife, Cindy.

“Market Share was babysitting yearlings at Southwind Farm,” said Steve Stewart, “and we’ll probably have him doing that here, and It’s My Show has recovered from a career-ending injury, so we’ll see how he is doing.”

Market Share, a son of Revenue, was born in Paris, Ky., where he was raised by his breeder, Hayley Moore. In 2017, Market Share won the Hambletonian for owners Richard Gutnick, TLP Stable and William Augustine, trainer Linda Toscano and driver Tim Tetrick. At age four, he won the Breeders Crown, Maple Leaf Trot and TVG Final.

When Southwind Farm decided to close its doors, Gutnick started looking for a new home for Market Share.

“We wanted to place him at the Kentucky Horse Park,” said Gutnick. “Besides winning the Hambletonian, he was a blue-ribbon winner at the Standardbred Pleasure Horse Show and had been ridden regularly. But we couldn’t get him placed at the Horse Park because they wanted a different breed. Luckily, Steve Stewart said they would be happy to take him at Hunterton, and I’m very happy about that.”

It’s My Show’s new home happens to be the place he was born. The 6-year-old gelding by Sweet Lou out of the great Put On A Show was foaled at Hunterton. He is settling in after a year-long recovery from a shattered pastern that required multiple screws to repair.

Trained by Linda Toscano, It’s My Show had won the North America Cup, Little Brown Jug and Canadian Pacing Derby before suffering his injury.

“I was given the option to euthanize him. The vets told me it was 50-50 if he survived,” said Richard Young, who co-owns the horse with Joanne Young. “I’m in the business to race, but you have to be able to accept that bad things can happen. But I’m an animal lover, so I said `let’s try’ to save him. I’m very happy the surgery was a success. He was at Mid-Atlantic (Veterinary Clinic) in New Jersey for four months.”

It’s My Show’s dam, Put On A Show, still resides at Hunterton and is owned by a partnership that includes Steve Stewart.

Hunterton Farm will soon begin welcoming guests to inspect its 2026 yearlings and encourages visitors to ask to see Market Share and It’s My Show.

Go Dog Go Returns a Winner in Red Mile KYSS Kickoff

LEXINGTON, Ky.— Odds-on favorite Go Dog Go perched behind tempo-setter Gimpanzee Dancer and pounced in the stretch for a simple 1:50.3 victory in the opening round of Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) for 4-year-old trotting males on Tuesday (July 28) at The Red Mile.

Gimpanzee Dancer (driven by Andy McCarthy) motored out of post 6 to the top with Go Dog Go (Scott Zeron), leaving from the pylon post, securing the pocket to a :26.4 first quarter. Left with no challengers through a :56.1 half and 1:24.1 three-quarters, Gimpanzee Dancer prepared for the attack of Go Dog Go in the ensuing stretch sprint but could not repel the Carter Pinske trainee. Go Dog Go spurted past Gimpanzee Dancer and coasted to the beam a two-length winner with Big Shoes (Todd McCarthy) chasing in third and Boots N Beer (Joey Putnam) following in fourth.

A stallion by Greenshoe-Primary Target, Go Dog Go competes for owners Wiesman Farms LLC and Al Libfeld. Go Dog Go won his third race from eight starts this season and his 10th race from 30 starts in his career, earning $712,410. He paid $3.28 to win.

Trainer Carter Pinske also took the opening $35,000 round of the KYSS for 4-year-old trotting mares with Grand Reserve (Andy McCarthy) while also having three of the four competing in the non-betting race before the pari-mutuel card. Andy McCarthy grabbed the lead and took her peers around the track through a clip of :28.3, :57.1 and 1:24.3 to clock a 1:52 mile over pocket-chaser Aperfect Annie (Marvin Luna). Winnpanzee (David Miller) clinched third from Best Friends Girl (Todd McCarthy). Grand Reserve, a daughter of Walner-Bella Glos, competes for owner Hudson Standardbred Stable Inc. She won her second race from 10 starts this season and her fifth race from 33 starts in her career, pushing her bankroll to $172,361.

Live harness racing at The Red Mile resumes on Sunday (Aug. 2) with KYSS action slated for 2-year-old pacing c**ts and geldings headlined by the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series. First-race post time on Sunday is 5:05 p.m. (EDT).

FIELDS SET FOR HAMBO, OAKS ELIMS AT BIG M

Cranbury, NJ – Dan Patch Award winner Apex, MGM Yonkers Trot champion Inexpressable and multiple stakes winners Diabolic Hill, Endurance and Spencer Hanover were among 19 horses entered Tuesday (July 28) for the 101st edition of the Hambletonian Stakes, for 3-year-old trotters, at The Meadowlands.

Two $100,175 eliminations will be held Saturday (Aug. 1) at The Big M. The top five finishers from each elim will advance to the $1 million Grade 1 Winning Key Farm Hambletonian final on Aug. 8 at The Meadowlands.

Twenty-one horses entered the companion filly event, the Hambletonian Oaks, resulting in three $50,175 eliminations Saturday at The Meadowlands. The top three finishers from each elim plus the fourth-place finisher with the highest lifetime earnings will advance to the $500,000 Grade 1 Hambletonian Oaks final, also on Aug. 8.

Elimination winners will draw for post positions 1 through 6 in the final. All other finalists will be placed in an open draw for the remaining post positions. The draws for the finals of both the Hambletonian and Hambletonian Oaks will be conducted on Aug. 4 during a luncheon from 2-5 p.m. at The Chateau Grande in East Brunswick, N.J.

Apex, the No. 1-ranked horse in Meadowlands announcer/analyst Ken Warkentin’s Road to the Winning Key Farm Hambletonian, and Spencer Hanover were among four horses entered by trainer Marcus Melander. The others were American Power and Nix Nacken.

After beginning this season with a neck loss to American Power, Apex has won the New Jersey Sire Stakes championship in a career-best 1:50.3 on June 12 and a division of the G3 Stanley Dancer Memorial on July 11, all at The Meadowlands. The son of Walner-Mission Brief has won eight of 12 lifetime races and earned $1.06 million. His victories last year included the Mohawk Million and Peter Haughton Memorial, both Grade 1 stakes.

Apex will leave from post 7 in a field of nine in the first Hambletonian elimination, with Dexter Dunn in the sulky.

American Power also is in the first elimination, where he will leave from post 8 with driver James MacDonald. American Power was second to Apex in the Dancer and heads to his Hambletonian elim off a win in the G2 Dr. Harry M. Zweig Memorial on July 19 at Vernon Downs. He won in a career-best 1:50, which is tied with Nix Nacken for the fastest mile of the season by a 3-year-old trotter.

Leaving from the outside post 9 in the first elimination will be Endurance, who has won three consecutive races, including a Dancer division, for trainer Chris Beaver and driver Andrew McCarthy. His only loss in five starts this season was a second-place finish behind Spencer Hanover in the inaugural Oak Grove Trotting Derby on May 16 at Oak Grove.

Inexpressable, who won the G2 Yonkers Trot on June 26 at Yonkers Raceway, will start from post 3 in the first elimination, with Scott Zeron listed to drive for trainer Lucas Wallin. The Yonkers Trot is the first jewel in the Trotting Triple Crown, followed by the Hambletonian and Kentucky Futurity. Nine horses have captured the Trotting Triple Crown since its inception in 1955, the most recent being Marion Marauder in 2016.

Also in the first elim is Ardonne, who won the G1 William Wellwood Memorial last year. He will start from post 5 with trainer/driver Åke Svanstedt.

Spencer Hanover, this season’s richest 3-year-old trotter with $393,391, will start from post 3 in the second Hambletonian elimination. He was a G1 Breeders Crown champion at age 2 and won this year’s Oak Grove Trotting Derby on May 16 and the Empire Breeders Classic on June 12 at Vernon Downs. Jason Bartlett will drive Spencer Hanover for trainer Melander.

The second elimination also includes Diabolic Hill, who won last year’s G1 Valley Victory Stakes. This year, he was second to Apex in the New Jersey Sire Stakes championship and runner-up to American Power in the Zweig. He will leave from post 9 with Todd McCarthy driving for trainer Annie Stoebe.

Magic Punk, who won the G3 Dexter Cup on May 2 at The Meadowlands, will start from post 7 in the second elim with Yannick Gingras driving for trainer Svanstedt, while 2025 Ohio Horse of the Year Big Ranger, who has won 11 of 13 career races, will leave from post 8 with Tim Tetrick driving for trainer Anette Lorentzon.

The Hambletonian eliminations are races 7 and 9.

Turning to the Hambletonian Oaks, Nezuko Kamado S is this season’s fastest sophomore trotting filly thanks to her 1:50.1 triumph in a division of the G2 Del Miller Memorial on July 11 at The Meadowlands. Unbeaten in four starts in 2026, she will leave from post 5 in the second Oaks elimination, with Scott Zeron in the sulky for trainer Melander.

The second elim also includes Storybook Love, who was a Breeders Crown winner last year, and starts Saturday from post 3 with Todd Ratchford driving for trainer Matt Bax.

Jailbird Jog, this season’s richest 3-year-old trotting filly with $295,275, will start from post 4 in the first Oaks elimination. Her wins this season include the Oak Grove Trotting Oaks on May 16, a Del Miller Memorial division on July 11 and the Tompkins-Geers Stakes on July 25 at The Meadowlands. James MacDonald will drive for trainer Jason McGinnis.

Also in the first elimination is New Jersey Sire Stakes champion Madam Cheval, who will leave from post 7 with Tim Tetrick driving for trainer Nancy Takter.

The third elimination finds Dan Patch Award winner Setyoursightshigh, who heads to her race off a win in the G2 Zweig Memorial Filly Trot on July 19 at Vernon. She has finished worse than second only once in 16 lifetime starts, with nine victories, and leaves from post 1 on Saturday with Dunn driving for Melander.

Leading Lady, who missed by a neck in both the Zweig and New Jersey Sire Stakes championship, will leave from post 5 in the third elim. Another Takter trainee, she will have Matt Kakaley in the sulky.

The third elimination also includes Victorianas Secret, who is coming off a victory in the G3 Moni Maker Stakes on July 18 at Eldorado Scioto Downs and will leave from post 2 with Ronnie Wrenn Jr. driving for trainer Vernon Beachy.

The Hambletonian Oaks eliminations are races 1, 4 and 6.

Captain Arturovico Soars in Red Mile KYSS Opener

LEXINGTON, Ky.— Odds-on choice Captain Arturovico swept to the lead past the quarter and held authority to the finish for a comfortable 1:49.1 victory in the $35,000 kickoff leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) for 4-year-old pacing males on Monday afternoon (July 27) at The Red Mile.

Driver Dexter Dunn eased into third with Captain Arturovico from the pylon post as Damn The Torpedoes (driven by Andy McCarthy) crossed over from post 7 to grab the lead to a :27.4 first quarter. Dunn soon pulled his charge from the pylons and brushed to the top before a :55.2 half and cruised under minimal pressure to three-quarters in 1:22.4. From there, he glided home for a 3-3/4-length victory while Damn The Torpedoes gave chase in second with Fusion (Josert Fonseca) rallying from a third-over trip for third and Somelousomewhere (Atlee Bender) levelling off from a first-over bid past the half for fourth.

Ron Burke trains Captain Arturovico, a 4-year-old gelding by Captaintreacherous-Tilikum, for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Larry Karr and Phil Collura. The gelding collected his fifth win from 13 starts this season and his 17th victory from 43 starts in his career, pushing his earnings to $542,559. He paid $3.08 to win.

Dunn also scored in the $35,000 KYSS opening prelim for 4-year-old pacing mares, contested as a non-betting race before the pari-mutuel card, with Brett Pelling pupil Three Times Bettor in a 1:50.1 mile. After sitting a pocket trip to pacesetter Odds On Chesapeake (Luke Hanners) through opening fractions of :28.1 and :55.1, Three Times Bettor lifted after the leader approaching three-quarters in 1:24.1 and surged by smoothly in the stretch for a 1-3/4-length win. Odds On Chesapeake finished second with Caviart Delight (Todd McCarthy) closing for third and Rose (Andy McCarthy) settling for fourth.

A daughter of Bettor’s Delight-Three Times A Lady, Three Times Bettor competes for owner Thaddeus Wier. She won her seventh race from nine starts this season and her 16th race from 26 starts in her career, good for $422,314 in earnings.

Timothy Guts Out Proud Series Final Victory on Red Mile Opening Night

LEXINGTON, Ky.— Timothy stayed brave making an uncovered assault from the half to the finish to earn a gritty 1:51 victory in the $50,000 Kentucky Proud Series final for 3-year-old pacing c**ts and geldings on opening night at The Red Mile on Sunday (July 26), a night which featured over $400,000 in purses.

Leaving from post 6, 20-year-old Zyler Maxwell floated Timothy, the 9-5 favorite, forward into third as Odds On Python (driven by Josh Sutton) motored to the lead approaching a :26.4 first quarter. Maxwell stayed put from third up the backstretch until Dragon Sting (Atlee Bender) started to tip off the pylons, forcing Maxwell to flush Timothy and lead the overland charge into a :55.2 half. Timothy plugged towards Odds On Python as the tempo stayed hot to three-quarters in 1:22.4 and the pair went toe to toe in the stretch, where Timothy muscled past the pacesetter and then staved off late charges to seize victory by a half length in a 1:51 mile. Fletchers Field (Geremy Bobbitt) closed for second with L B I (Tim Tetrick) also rallying late to take third.

Victor Allen trains Timothy, a c**t by Catch The Fire-Designated Drinker, for owner Michael Tarkington. The c**t won his sixth race from 13 starts, has now earned $64,725 and paid $5.62 to win.

Aerowulf (Andy McCarthy, 1:52.3 winning mile; $10.26 to win) opened the card with a first-up grind to win the Proud Series final for freshman pacing fillies. McCarthy forged up the rim from a mid-pack spot after odds-on favorite and pacesetter Watermelon Sizzle (Devon Tharps) posted a quick early clip of :26.2 and :55.1. Aerowulf steadily advanced on the favorite through the last turn and, after three-quarters in 1:24.1, thrusted past and strode comfortably to a four-length win. Tammy’s Wish (Tim Tetrick) persevered from a wide trip out of post 10 for second with Midnight Beauty (Zyler Maxwell) splitting through traffic for third. Carter Pinske trains Aerowulf, a filly by Catch The Fire-Lyons Katrina, for owner Dr. Madonna Morrison.

Doc’s Girl Friday (Randy Jerrell, 1:52.1; $9.92) swarmed to the front after following cover from her stablemate and landed a neck win on 2-5 favorite Rocksy (Tim Tetrick) in the Proud Series final for sophomore pacing fillies. Jerrell caught a tow from Odds On Ufo (Marvin Luna) approaching a :55.2 half cut by Rocksy and readied for a stretch sprint while passing three-quarters in 1:23.3. As Odds On Ufo faltered into the stretch, Doc’s Girl Friday lifted and reached for the lead late to nail Rocksy in the final strides while pocket-sitter Caviart Santa Fe (Joey Putnam) settled for third. Randy Jerrell trains Doc’s Girl Friday, a filly by Shadow Play-Doc’s Hope, for owner Dr. Andrew Roberts.

Pillsbury (Andy McCarthy, 1:54.4; $7.56) emerged from a ground-saving trip to collar loose longshot leader Festival (Josert Fonseca) to win the Proud Series final for sophomore trotting fillies. Festival, off at 55-1, repelled challenges from Woodside Jasmine (Geremy Bobbitt) and Songbird (Marvin Luna) through fractions of :28.4, :57.2 and 1:25.2 while building a four-length cushion rounding for home. She wavered in the lane following the duels while McCarthy had ample clearance at the inside to gather momentum with Pillsbury and, once finding a seam late in the stretch, darted forward to win by a length with Julie Palema (Tyler Miller) recovering from a break at the start to take third. Carter Pinske trains Pillsbury, a filly by Gimpanzee-Flame Mearas S, for owner Dr. Madonna Morrison.

Mustang Baby (Tim Tetrick, 1:56.2; $4.22) took the lead past a :28.2 first quarter and held firmly to the finish to win the Proud Series final for freshman trotting fillies. She strolled comfortably through middle fractions of :57 and 1:27.1 while turning away the challenge from long-parked Countrydiamondmama (Andy McCarthy) when spinning for home. The Rod Debeck-owned and -trained daughter of International Moni-Crazy Grigio coasted to a 1-1/2-length win chased by Thrill Me (Tyler Miller), who rallied from third over to take second. Ms Ladybug (Marvin Luna) saved ground through the mile and took third.

Easter Bb (Wyatt Avenatti, 1:55.2; $3.16) found a pocket trip and pounced smoothly for the win in the Proud Series final for freshman trotting males. After taking control to a :28.2 first quarter, Easter Bb settled for a seat behind Yo Bo (Verlin Yoder) and, following splits of :57 and 1:27.1, angled outside to attack the leader coming for home. The Phil Knox trainee hustled by Yo Bo and pulled clear for a 3-1/4-length win with Boitano (Anthony MacDonald) giving chase from a ground-saving trip for third. Brant Brower owns Easter Bb, a gelding by Creatine-Fear Her Makeup who also posted his fifth victory in a row with the Proud Series score.

Deuce Pop (Andy McCarthy, 1:53.2; $3.30) rushed wide around the last turn to sn**ch command and hold to the finish for the victory in the Proud Series final for sophomore trotting males. McCarthy landed towards the back of the pack to a :28.1 first quarter as Yo Billie (Verlin Yoder) climbed towards and then planted onto the lead before a :56 half. Yo Billie cruised unfazed on the lead to three-quarters in 1:24.4 while Deuce Pop roared three wide and rolled for the finish with steam. Deuce Pop ripped past Yo Billie and bore in through the stretch as Zillionaire Kemp (Tim Tetrick) stormed onto the scene from near last late, but McCarthy kept Deuce Pop to task to the finish for a half-length win. Gorilla Sighting (Atlee Bender) gave chase at the inside for third. Randy Jerrell trains and co-owns Deuce Pop, a c**t by Tactical Landing-Atlantic Crest, with partners Atlantic Trot Inc. and Steve Stewart.



Crazygirlsburnsage (Josert Fonseca, 1:52; $5.26) pushed first up after fast early fractions and sailed home a snug winner in the Proud Series final for freshman pacing males. Fonseca tipped his charge off the pylons nearing a :55.1 first half and marched uncovered after pacesetter My Body Guard (Atlee Bender) to press for the lead. He surged past My Body Guard after three-quarters in 1:24.1 and crossed the line an easy winner by 1-3/4 lengths. Secret Sun (Zyler Maxwell) gave chase from a second-over trip for second while My Body Guard settled for third. Todd Luther trains Crazygirlsburnsage, a gelding by Perfect Sting-Sage N, for owner Greg Luther Racing LLC.

Live harness racing at The Red Mile resumes on Monday (July 27) with a 15-race card headlined by a $35,000 division of Kentucky Sire Stakes for 4-year-old pacing males. First-race post time is 1 p.m. (EDT).
