This Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, we'd love nothing more than to see dogs like Khal get the chance they deserve. 🩶

Khal is a gorgeous 1-year-old Pittie mix who is pretty much perfect outside of his kennel. He walks well on leash, loves to snuggle and nap with you on the couch, and is always happy to investigate a snack situation — without ever being too pushy.

And in play groups? Total rockstar. Khal loves playing with other dogs and has a blast making new friends. He also has an impressive talent for sniffing out and collecting any tennis ball within a 10-mile radius.

The hard part is that Khal simply isn’t thriving in the shelter environment. He’s been waiting for over 30 days, and the longer he stays here, the more we’re seeing him struggle. We just know there is a person or family out there who will bring out the very best in this sweet, intelligent, playful boy.

Khal is also eligible for foster care, so getting him into a home could make a huge difference as he decompresses while he waits for his family.

This Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, consider giving a shelter dog the chance to show you who they really are. You could quite literally change a life — and by making space for another dog who needs us, you're helping save more lives, too.

Visit our Malcomb Campus today and ask about meeting Khal Drogo.

October kicks off Adopt a Shelter Dog Month—and today is National Black Dog Day! 🖤

Black dogs are often the most overlooked in shelters, with some research suggesting they wait significantly longer for adoption than other dogs. But we know a dog’s coat color has nothing to do with their ability to love or be an amazing family member. Today, we’re shedding some light on the black dog stigma with wonderful dogs like Chicago.

This beautiful 6-year-old Shepherd mix has been waiting for her next chapter for more than two months. She’s gentle, sweet, and curious, and she gets excited when she sees other dogs because she loves to play! Chicago is respectful of the new people she meets, stays close by on walks, and is simply ready to find a family of her very own.

This Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, we hope you’ll look past the surface and get to know the dog underneath. Chicago and so many wonderful pups are ready to be seen and loved.

Visit Chicago at our Everyday Adoption Center inside the PetSmart in Hamburg, open from 11 AM-6 PM today.

Trivago is ready to book her one-way ticket out of the shelter! ✈️🐱

This 2-year-old Tabby girl has been waiting for over 2 months, and we think it’s time for her next destination to be HOME. She does well with other cats, so if you’ve already got a feline friend, she might just be your girl!

Even more purr-fect? Adoption fees for all cats 1 year and older are just $10 through today, 9/30.

So plan a small getaway to our Everyday Adoption Center inside the Hamburg PetSmart today to meet Trivago! Your next companion might be closer than you think.
