A Step Above Dance Studio

A dance home where every child is seen, supported, celebrated, and shines bright. They truly love what they do — and it shows in every class.
A Step Above Dance Studio is more than a place to take dance classes — it’s a place families quickly begin to call their second home. We are proud to offer high-quality dance education for toddlers, children, and teens in Lima, Ohio, while building a welcoming community that parents and dancers love being part of. Our studio features two bright, inspiring dance rooms, an organized student lobby, parent viewing windows, and a comfortable seating area where families can relax and connect while their child is in class. Our instructors are passionate lifelong learners who continually grow in their craft so they can pour that knowledge and inspiration into every dancer they teach. Most importantly, our students are encouraged to embrace who they are as individuals and use that to develop their own artistry and confidence. Whether they are 2 or 18, dancers leave A Step Above feeling fulfilled, empowered, and proud of themselves.
Meet the Empire Team 🪩💜💙
Dance is so much bigger than learning steps. 💜
It’s time away from a screen.
Time to move their bodies.
To use their imagination.
To laugh with friends.
To be challenged.
To mess up and try again.
To learn how to listen, focus, work hard, and keep going.
Kids spend so much of their world behind a screen now. Dance gives them a place to just… be kids.
To make friends. Be silly. Work toward something. Get sweaty. Celebrate each other. Hear their favorite song come on and light up. Make memories they’ll actually remember.
Yes, we teach dance. We care about technique, progress, and helping our students become stronger dancers.
But we care just as much about everything happening in between. 💜
Because those might just be the most important parts.
Happy Mean Girls Day!
