Lima Rescue Mission

A neat project that was completed this summer was the construction and installation of a deck in the woods at Camp Roberts. This is the perfect spot for prayer, picnics, or to take a break after a walk. It is located in a clearing where multiple trails intersect. The deck was constructed by one of our board members and some of his friends, all of whom volunteered their time. We are so thankful for their hard work on this project!

I will sing of my Redeemer
And His wondrous love to me;
On the cruel cross He suffered,
From the curse to set me free.

It is neat to occasionally look back at old photos and notice some of the details. This is from a meal being served likely during the early-to-mid 1940s. You can see that the man on the left has a top hat in his lap, notice the style of telephone in the background, and we also see one of the pots that we still use in our kitchen to this day.

It's hard to believe, but this is the last week of camp! We are thankful for all that has taken place at Camp Roberts this summer and we look forward to telling you more about it in the coming weeks. After a much deserved break, our staff will begin preparing for after-school activities. Please keep this ministry in your prayers!

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

This photo shows one of our children's classes that met at the Mission in the early 1930s.

Our children's ministry dates back to the 1920s, and that legacy continues today through summer and after-school programs at Camp Roberts.

We are grateful for the opportunity to look back at our rich history as we remain dedicated to serving the next generation.
