This is a bad year for ticks. If you find one on your pet, here's how to properly remove it: Wearing gloves, use clean fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick as close to your pet's skin as possible and pull straight up with steady, even pressure. Never twist, jerk, or squeeze the tick's body. Clean the bite area with soap and water. Drop the live tick into a container of rubbing alcohol or flush it down the toilet. Never crush a tick with your bare fingers. If your pet experiences fever, low energy, not eating, or limping, contact Baker Animal Hospital right away for an appointment. https://bakerah.com/
