Army Veteran | Former Congressional Candidate | Host of Renewing Democracy | renewingdemocracy.us I’m not a career politician. I’ve been laid off.

I’m a veteran and a warehouse manager for a food manufacturer. I've spent more time driving a forklift than wearing a suit. Until recently, I never dreamed of running for office. After all, people like me don’t do that. My focus was on working hard so I can give my daughter Emily the best life possible. But I’ve been angrier and angrier at how our elected officials just don’t seem to get it. They’re always talking on cable news about how tough things are for the middle class, and never doing anything for us. If things are ever going to change, we need real middle class voices in Congress – people who share our values and our worries. I’ve struggled to find a job I could provide for my family with. I’ve been hurt and couldn’t afford to see a doctor, and skipped medication to make ends meet. I’ve lost all I worked for and had to build it all back up again. I’ve lived the challenges those politicians are always talking about. I want to go to Washington and fight for what we really need – good-paying jobs, affordable health care, and the chance to leave our kids with a little more than we got. Isn’t it about time we had congressmen who did?

Both candidates for governor are promising a gas tax holiday. Here is the math neither campaign leads with: Ohio’s gas tax is 38.5 cents a gallon. On a 15-gallon fill-up, the holiday saves $5.78. Gas is $4.52 a gallon — up $1.48 from this time last year. A break is a break. Just know what it actually covers before you believe the promise.

You do not have to defend every decision made in 2020 to tell the truth about who made it. Republican Gov. Mike DeWine has repeatedly said the decisions were his. Amy Acton signed health orders as his health director, but DeWine’s words are clear: “The buck stops with me.” Blaming her alone may fit a campaign ad. It does not fit the record.

40 days until Ohio chooses its next governor.

The latest Bowling Green poll has Amy Acton at 48% and Vivek Ramaswamy at 45%. It’s a close race.

Acton helped lead Ohio through a crisis. Vivek ran for president.

I want a governor focused on Ohio, not the national spotlight.

Harvest doesn’t wait for diesel prices to fall.

Ohio farmers are paying more to run their equipment and haul their crops. If those costs stay high, families could feel it at the grocery store too.

Acton and Ramaswamy both support a gas tax holiday. That could help with hauling, but farm equipment fuel is already exempt from the tax.

So what’s their plan for farmers facing this harvest right now?

The official White House YouTube channel is now promoting “TRUMP TV.”

The White House belongs to the American people, not the president’s personal brand.

Where should that line be drawn? I cannot believe this.

Gas and Diesel prices in Ohio. What are your prices?

Americans are making tough choices for their families because everything is too expensive.

It’s time for a change!

This 👇 J.D. Vance wants more time. Meanwhile, American families are being asked to absorb higher and higher costs.

Ohio voters are being flooded with ads.

Reuters reports the Brown-Husted Senate race has already attracted about $298 million in ad spending. It also reports about $14 million in new Republican-aligned super PAC ads, while the candidates themselves have raised $38.6 million for Brown and $14.3 million for Husted.

That is a lot of money trying to shape what Ohio sees, hears, and believes.

No matter who you support, it is worth asking a simple question: Who is paying for the message?

Where in Ohio is Jeff?

$4.31 gas.
$6.23 diesel.
Oil over $100.

This isn’t just what you pay at the pump. Diesel moves nearly everything we buy.

Americans are about to feel this everywhere.
