Added some sound deadening to the back of several panels yesterday to make driving the ‘48 Mack a little more enjoyable. This is the fuel tank access panel from inside the cab. The cab floor got the same treatment.

Old school move from one of our firefighters at a large commercial fire today. Our apparatus has been dealing with overheating, but he knows his rig well and took an extra step that most of our engineers wouldn’t have thought of. There is no booster reel on this rig, so he used the wash down line to keep it cool while pumping. He grew up around the firehouse and has a passion for the job rarely seen these days. Job well done,

April 10, 1922, the Detroit Fire Dept did its final run using horses. Engine Co. No. 37. Fifty thousand Detroiters viewed the final run that marked the end of an era.
