Look at the full cost of the loan, including your rate, points, lender fees, and projected monthly payment.
3️⃣ You need cash beyond your down payment.
Earnest money, inspections, appraisal, closing costs, prepaid taxes and insurance can all factor into your upfront costs.
4️⃣ The purchase price isn’t the true cost of the home.
Taxes, insurance, HOA fees, utilities, age of major systems and future maintenance can all impact what that home actually costs you.
