Cache Trails Alliance

Cache County is renowned in northern Utah for its' easy access to an incredible system of single-track trails open to a variety of trail users.

We recognize this trail system faces high user demand and requires a huge effort to maintain which strains the resources of public and private landowners. Accordingly, we seek to provide support in organizing volunteers to maintain, clean, repair and reroute trails. We acknowledge that both the US Forest Service and Cache County have existing trails programs. As a 501(c)(3)non-profit, we seek to provide a private organization to expand trail development using volunteer efforts, trail adoptions, and corporate fundraising beyond the capabilities of existing government entities.

👏 Shoutout to our amazing volunteers this National Public Lands Day!

On the Right Hand Fork Trail, they:
🥾 Hiked in carrying all the materials
🪵 Removed the damaged bridge deck
🔨 Built and installed a brand-new bridge deck
🐴 Placed a new horse crossing sign

You keep our trails safe & beautiful! 💚

Welcome to the country!!!

Most people from the valley are familiar with the tradition of grazing cows up Providence canyon but some are not so here is your official notice!

Cows have been dropped off in Providence canyon for summer grazing! The trail is still accessible and useable but proceed with caution and safety in mind. Make sure if you are using the trail instead of the road to close the gate behind you!

Happy trails friends say hi, be kind, be safe!

Please join the US Forest Service, Utah Native Plant Society, Bridgerland Audubon, Cache Trails Alliance and others in helping control noxious and invasive plants in Logan Canyon.

Meet 9:00, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Canyon Entrance Park (i.e., “First Dam”), bring heavy-duty weeding tools (suitable for rocky soil) if you can, wear protective clothing, including gloves, long pants, long sleeved shirts, sturdy footwear, and be prepared for damp weather (the current Saturday morning forecast is “slight chance of showers”, increasing after noon).

Volunteers can clear weeds from nearby areas and trails, including the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, Highline Trail, Canyon Gateway/River Trail and Canyon Road Trail. However, our most urgent concern is an infestation of myrtle spurge on a south-facing slope near the Highline and Gateway Trails. This toxic plant has invaded much of the Wasatch Front and we need to stop it before it does the same in our area.
