James Madison wrote:
"Whilst the last members were signing, Doctor Franklin, looking towards the President's chair, at the back of which a rising sun happened to be painted, observed to a few members near him, that painters had found it difficult to distinguish in their art, a rising, from a setting, sun. I have, said he, often & often, in the course of the session, & the vicissitudes of my hopes & fears as to its issue, looked at that behind the President, without being able to tell whether it was rising or setting; but now at length, I have the happiness to know, that it is a rising, & not a setting sun."

Final committee activities:

We celebrated the new mural on Center Street in Logan on Sept 11, 2026 with Mayor Mark Anderson, Lucky Slice Pizza, & artist Chuck Landvatter.

Rocky Mountain Veterans Center kindly presented us with certificates of recognition at their annual Heroes Tribute Banquet & at the Cache County Council Meeting. We are so grateful!

This year has been an incredible opportunity to remember America's beginnings. Now we look to the future.

25 years

On the National Day of Service and Remembrance, Logan City will be hosting a social to recognize the completion of the America250 mural on Center Street. Come down and meet the artist, Chuck Landvatter, and get a slice of pizza - while it lasts!

America250 Cache County partnered with Logan City to commission a mural "Our American Story" on Center Street by artist Chuck Landvatter. The mural is on the west side of Lucky Slice.

Banners & bookmarks designed by Gail Griswold:
• Banners were put up by the Logan Downtown Alliance along Main Street Logan to help celebrate the 250th Anniversary during the months of July & August.
• America250 Cache County gave 20,000 bookmarks to every elementary student in the Valley, in both school districts & in charter schools, including homeschoolers. Bookmarks were also given to participants at Patriot Camp.
