Y-not Save a Sam Rescue
Samoyed Rescue
Y-Not Save a Sam Rescue is an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2012 to rescue Samoyed's in need, whether they are in shelters, found on the streets or an owner surrender. We are open to saving dogs in all geographic areas (both in the United States and abroad), of all ages, and in all health conditions, as funding allows. Y-Not Save a Sam Rescue operates independently and must generate our own donations to fund operational costs including veterinary care, travel expenses, boarding, and training.
Our last morning of mischief with Stewart, he’s the Samoyed playing with the food dish and running around with it too. This time tomorrow we’ll already be road trip’n -meeting up with his new Family. He will be going to Oregon. We are going to miss this sweet boy. His new mom & dad and an older Sammy brother YETI are very excited for him to become a part of the family.

💙BEAU UPDATE-
It has been just over three weeks since Beau’s initial FHO surgery on his right hip. During his two-week post-surgery follow-up at Cache Meadow Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Durrant noted that his hip is progressing very well, his incision is healing properly, and he has gained six pounds. Dr. Durrant also continues to coordinate closely with Dr. Welsh regarding his care.
Next week, Beau will be fitted with a knuckling corrector boot on his left rear leg during his recheck. We hope this will help elevate his left rear paw so he can move more freely without dragging his toes. If his progress continues, the veterinary team hopes to schedule his left FHO surgery as early as October 15. Thanks to your generosity, we have now raised the required funds for this second surgery (estimated at $4,300.00).
Looking ahead to mid-to-late December, we are still working to raise the necessary funds for his Tarsal Arthrodesis / Joint Fusion Surgery (estimated between $5,037.30 and $7,093.80).
Managing his recovery—including crate rest, harness support, medications, follow-up appointments, and therapy—has required significant effort, but Beau has maintained a remarkably sweet and happy demeanor throughout the process.
Direct donations to his medical fund can be made to Y-not Save a Sam Rescue via the Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal QR codes attached. A GoFundMe page is also currently being created.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support, contributions, and help in sharing Beau's story.

BEAU UPDATE🐾
We are thrilled to share that Beau is doing remarkably well after the surgery on his right-hip FHO surgery 10 days ago. It has been just over four weeks since this beautiful boy arrived in our care, and he has captured all of our hearts with his sweet, loving, and determined spirit. While he isn't quite ready go out in the yard with the pack just yet, he is making great progress. He currently enjoys frequent short walks around the yard and for the last 3 days he’s even gone out the front gate getting a very short walk across front yard making him feel included with our morning routine when the others dogs are going out for their walks, He also loves going for short errand rides in the van. He really wants to be included in our regular daily routine. Managing his recovery has been quite a process he’s not a fan of the short leash, especially when marking the yard in the morning is a very important thing. He’s very good about returning to his crate and taking his medication, lays down easily for his ice packs & hot packs, honestly Beau has been an absolute angel. If he continues to do well, we are hoping he can finally lose the cone by the end of this week. He is scheduled for a follow-up exam later this week. The right-side FHO was just the first of at least three scheduled surgeries to give Beau the pain-free life he deserves.
Here is what his upcoming medical timeline looks like:
Late October: Left-side FHO surgery.
Mid-to-Late December: A complex Arthrodesis (joint fusion) surgery.
Estimates are included in this post.
We are overwhelmed for the outpouring love, and concern from our friends and followers definitely has been truly overwhelming.
We want to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude to everyone’s support.
Thank you for walking this long road to recovery with Beau💙.

🧡 MARTHA 3 yr.old F Samoyed came into our rescue organization as an owner surrender in early August.
Martha received a full deep grooming this week and was spayed just over two weeks ago. This girl is a bubbly blast of bulldozing pure energy. Warning: You should always have your feet completely secured when this girl is near because she is very excitable and coming at you playfully/for attention, she can easily knock an adult over. She’s currently 68 pounds of solid FLUFF! At her vet appointment it was recommended/encouraged she shed some pounds. Martha will need an active home preferably with no young children-(for their own safety, she doesn’t know her own sammy superpower). Her FOSTER says she’s been doing good with their older female Samoyed, she’s been enjoying having her company during the day while they have been at work and has learned sharing some of her toys is not that bad, which is enlightening since she’s been an only child for the past three years. She has the cutest biscuit freckles on her face and a few up on her ear tips too. We did recently learn she does get along great with cats(as long as they don’t steal her toys). There are some days she behaves greatly on walks and on other days “hold on for dear life”. Martha just needs an understanding home, one that’s willing to help her get down to a healthy weight, be consistent with good discipline, who’ll give her lots of attention and understand she’s just a “needy child”. Martha does seem to prefer male (human) company over female - she lived previously, was raised, by two single men. She is crate trained, House trained, she loves being in the water, collecting toys, loves car rides and she’s not really a barker. She is fully vaccinated. Microchipped, spayed, current on heartworm prevention. Martha is currently being fostered in Northern Utah- transportation can be arranged to an approved applicant.
Please complete an adoption application located on our website- saveasam.org if you think Martha could possibly be a good fit for you, your home or family.
If you currently have an adoption application on file and are possibly interested in adopting Martha or have any additional questions please email me @ [email protected] expressing interest.
As of September 1, we are now over the heat embargo and we are now able to continue flying our Rescues on AlaskaAir. We do fly our rescues all over the US and Canada to approved applicants.
