Leadership is about creating environments where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

In recognition of Disability Pride Month, we're highlighting the Applied Disability Studies Certificate, available as an advanced study option within the CSULB Evening MBA program.

Students have the opportunity to earn both an MBA and a post-baccalaureate certificate while exploring disability advocacy, community inclusion, policy, and fieldwork that supports meaningful outcomes for individuals with disabilities.

Because inclusive leadership isn't just good businessโ€”it's essential.

๐Ÿ’ฌ How have you seen accessibility or inclusion make a positive impact in your workplace, classroom, or community?

๐ŸŒŸ Internship Spotlight: Aariyon Young

Join us in congratulating Aariyon Young, an Evening MBA student who will be graduating in Spring 2027. As an Administrative Intern II at the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles - Community Affairs Bureau, Aariyon is gaining real-world experience and making a meaningful impact in the professional world.

๐Ÿ’ผ How does your internship connect with what youโ€™ve been learning in your program?
Information systems have been the most valuable courses I've taken in this program. Data analysis using Excel and Power BI has helped me become more effective in organizing client data from our digital equity programs, such as demographics, learned skills retention, and success rates.

๐Ÿ“ What advice would you give to other students who are exploring internships?
I would say try everything. You'll never know what skills you'll be able to master if you remain in your comfort zone, and every opportunity to learn is valuable. Also, don't be afraid to reach out and make meaningful connections with everyone around you.

Congratulations, Aariyon! ๐Ÿ‘ We look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the future.

Self-care looks a little different in grad school... ๐Ÿ˜…

โ˜• Drinking your coffee while it's still hot
๐Ÿ’ป Closing Canvas (even if it's just for an hour)
๐Ÿ“ง Having zero unread emails

We'll take the victories where we can. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Share if you can relate!

Green flags aren't just for relationships... they're for group projects too. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

In honor of National Good Teammate Day, we're celebrating the teammates who make every group project just a little bit easier.
โœ… They communicate.
โœ… They meet deadlines.
โœ… They support the team.
โœ… They come prepared.
โœ… They help find solutions.

Because let's be honest... every grad student appreciates a great group mate. ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ’ฌ Current students and alumni: We all have THAT group project story, so tell us what your biggest green flag is in a group project teammate? Or, what's one quality you always try to bring to your team?

๐ŸŒŸ Internship Spotlight: Dominic Michel

Meet Dominic Michel, a Daytime MBA student who will be graduating in Spring 2027. This semester, Dominic is gaining valuable hands-on experience as a Baseball Operations Intern at Lake Erie Crushers and building a strong foundation for future success.

๐Ÿ’ผ How does your internship connect with what you've been learning in your program?
My internship has allowed me to apply what I've learned in my MBA program through event planning, game-day operations, and working with different departments to help create a great experience for fans. It's given me valuable hands-on experience in a professional sports organization.

๐Ÿ“ What advice would you give to other students who are exploring internships?
Apply to as many opportunities as you can. It may not be your first choice, but stay open-minded and don't put yourself in a box. It's okay to step outside your comfort zone. You'll learn more about yourself and discover opportunities you never expected.

Congratulations, Dominic! ๐Ÿ‘ We look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the future.

๐ŸŽ“ Alumni Spotlight: Veronica Zuรฑiga Lopez

We're proud to feature Veronica Zuรฑiga Lopez, who has leveraged her Master of Business Administration degree (Evening MBA - Class of Spring 2021) to build a strong foundation that demonstrated leadership and launched her successful career as an Account Manager at Medline Industries, LP.

๐Ÿ“ What advice would you give current students or recent graduates interested in pursuing your professional field?
"Networking is essential! Donโ€™t be afraid to reach out and connect with professionals over coffee or lunch. These conversations can open doors to career insights, mentorship, and enrichment opportunities. Come preparedโ€”be curious, engaged, and intentional in your questions, but also take the time to absorb the knowledge shared. Donโ€™t hesitate to share your own journey and experiences as well. Above all, remember that every interaction is a chance to make a meaningful impression."

โœ๏ธ Anything else you'd like to share with us?
"CSULB is truly a powerhouse of a university. As a proud two-time graduate, earning both my undergraduate and graduate degrees here, some of my best memories and most formative experiences are tied to this campus. My time at CSULB taught me far more than academics; it shaped my professional etiquette and personal growth. I began my journey in 2008 as a wide-eyed, first-generation college student, and I am forever grateful to the professors and mentors whose guidance has left a lasting impact on my life and career."

We are proud to celebrate her accomplishments and look forward to seeing her continued success in the future! ๐Ÿ‘
